President Buhari Mourns With Family and Friends of Sammie Okposo Over His Death

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sympathy to the family, friends, and coworkers of the well-known gospel singer Sammie Okposo, whose passing yesterday startled many people in Nigeria and throughout the world. In a statement sent by his media assistant Femi Adesina, President Buhari expressed his condolences to the Christian community, in particular to Okposo’s fellow gospel musicians and the younger generation who had grown to identify with his uplifting style of praise and worship over the years.

The president cited Okposo’s innovative platform for worship, Okposo Praise Party, as well as his innovative contributions to Nollywood and the inspiring role he played in discovering and nurturing talent. Buhari urged the family to take comfort in his love-filled investments as he prayed for the musician’s spirit to find rest.
