Wizkid Bags Two Grammy Nomination Alongside Burna Boy And Femi Kuti

Popular Nigerian Singer, Ayodejio Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has bagged two Grammy nominations alongside Burna Boy and Femi Kuti.

The Recording Academy revealed the nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards in a live stream on Tuesday.

Wizkid was nominated in two categories, Essence featuring Tems in the ‘Best Global Music Performance’ category, and the Made In Lagos album in the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category. The same category Burna Boy won last Year.

Burna Boy was nominated alongside Angelique Kidjo for the track “Do Yourself”, He was also nominated in the main category for his contribution to Justin Beiber Justice Album.

Femi Kuti was also nominated in the ‘Best Global Music Performance’  for his song ‘Pa Pa Pa’ and he was nominated alongside Made Kuti in the ‘Best Global Music Album’ for their album ‘Legacy +’ 

The 2022 Grammys’ main event will air on January 31, 2022, at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on the CBS Television Network.

It is understood that the award show will also be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.

Last year, ‘Twice As Tall’, Burna Boy’s body of work, became the first Afrobeats album to win a Grammy award, Wizkid also won a 2021 Grammy for ‘Best Music Video’ following his work in Beyonce’s ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
