The popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has announced the launch of a new cryptocurrency asset named Echoke Social Token.

The multiple award-winning Singer took the Micro-blogging platform, Twitter to announce the launch of the cryptocurrency.

Davido entered into a partnership with Bitsika, a Ghana-based crypto payment firm to create the cryptocurrency asset named after his popular slang “E Choke”.

The Singer stated that he created the crypto asset in other to empower his fans as the token allows Investors access to giveaways, NFTs, backstage passes, jobs, festivals, and other benefits.

He stated that the token will not be available for sale to the public, but He and the partnered firm will release the tokens to the fans through periodic giveaways throughout the next 12 months, noting that the first giveaway will be on the 28th of November 2021

He wrote: Happy to finally announce this thing we’ve been working on for a while. It’s the ‘Echoke Social Token’. Use the hashtag #EchokeForHere. Every day, millions of fans create value that is captured by a few execs in a boardroom. Not any more. We’re giving the power back to the fans.

I built this with  @BitsikaAfrica’s new crypto company @omegoat on the Binance Smart Chain (BEP-20). Make sure to follow them. The tokens will give you free access to giveaways, NFTs, backstage passes, jobs, festivals, exclusive merchandise, media, and hospitality benefits.

In the spirit of democracy, we will not be selling the tokens to the public. We will release the tokens to the fans through periodic giveaways throughout the next 12 months. First giveaway on NOV 28th. Check @omegoat for more details.

My usual generosity, powered by the token. And it goes beyond me. This token is being built to be used by the wider entertainment industry, in Africa and then globally.

Recall that in February, Davido tweeted his intention about starting a bitcoin trading company.
