Pedro Franceschi was born and brought up in France. He was said to have picked an interest in technology and computers right from a young age. Between the age of eight and nine, he taught himself to code using information from Google and Tech books. He went further to use this knowledge to jailbreak iPhones to work in his region in Brazil. At the age of fourteen, he also developed an iPad window management software that enabled users to simultaneously manage multiple applications.
He somehow became popular in Brazil for his works, and this earned him software engineering jobs while in High School. Pedro Franceschi worked at Brainjuice from 2009 to early 2020, Sync Mobile from 2010 to 2011, and M4U from 2011 to 2013. It was while Pedro Franceschi was in High school he made friends with Henrique Dubugras with whom he is now a co-founder on Twitter. The two fought over which coding software was best on Twitter and from there became friends. They eventually graduated from being just friends to being business partners and founding their own company together.

In 2016, Pedro Franceschi started studying at Stanford University, United States alongside his friend, Henrique Dubugras. The duo dropped out of school after staying for less than a year to venture into their next business. Initially, they started with a virtual reality startup but quit upon realizing they didn’t know enough about the market. This led them back to the idea of payment processors, and that marked the birth of Brex.
Career Success
As earlier stated, while in High School, Pedro Franceschi and Henrique Dubugras founded a virtual reality startup which didn’t thrive. Pagar.me was founded in 2013 when they were just 16 years old. And it is a developer-friendly online payment processor for use in Brazil. In 2016, after the company had employed over a hundred employees, Pedro and Henrique sold the company to StoneCo which paid over $10 million for its purchase.
Pedro Franceschi and Henrique Dubugras founded Brex in January 2017 and it was first operated out of a house. Later on, the first Brex office was opened in San Francisco.
Brex issues corporate credit cards to startup businesses and sets credit limits as a percentage of the amount of money a startup has available in its bank account at any given time. To be approved for a card, startups must have received at least $100,000 in professional investments. The company has been financially backed up by Paypal.
