The figures on some of the most-liked tweets in Twitter history are unbelievable! Millions of people have liked certain tweets within hours of just making these posts. From the President of America to the richest man in the world and even to a late legendary actor, some posts just find a way of attracting nothing less than a million likes on Twitter.

That said, here are the top 10 most-liked tweets on Twitter so far.

1. Chadwick Boseman’s Death Announcement — 7 Million Likes

The passing of popular Hollywood actor, Chadwick Boseman shook the world in no small way. Many people had no idea he was battling cancer, therefore, the news about his illness and death attracted many viewers from all around the world. This tweet currently has 7 million likes on Twitter.

2. Elon Musk’s Announcement To Buy Coca-Cola — 4.7 Million Likes

Elon Musk had earlier announced his intention to acquire Twitter Inc. and his announcement stirred reactions from people all over the world. This tweet was posted after his Twitter statement. It was as though Musk was writing out his goals on Twitter for the world to see. While many people supported his intentions, some others were indifferent.

This tweet has 4.7 million likes.

3. Obama’s Statement on Racism — 4 Million Likes

The third post on the list of the most-liked tweets in Twitter history is former U.S. president, Barrack Obama’s tweet addressing racism. The post was a quote from Nelson Mandela’s book “Long Walk to Freedom”.

Although there are follow-up tweets below the one posted above, the first part of the tweet currently has 4 million likes on Twitter.

4. Greta Thunberg’s Savage Response to Andrew Tate — 3.9 Million Likes

Swedish Environmental Activist, Greta Thunberg and American Social Media personality/former professional kick-boxer, Andrew Tate had a clash on Twitter and Thunberg’s response blew up the bird app.

Recall that Tate had boasted about having 33 cars and asked Thunberg to provide her email address for him to send her a full list of his cars and their emissions. The activist, on the other hand, gave him a clap-back when she indirectly referred to his gesture as a “Small D*** Energy” and advised him to “Get a Life”. This clap-back from a 20-year-old lady attracted 3.9 million likes.

5. Joe Biden’s First Tweet as President — 3.8 Million Likes

On January 20, 2021, Joe Biden tweeted “It’s a new day in America” and this 6-word speech attracted a total of 3.8 million likes on Twitter. This statement is one of the most-liked tweets in Twitter history, all thanks to the presidential inauguration which happened hours before the tweet was made.

6. Barrack Obama’s Tweet on Kobe Bryant’s Death — 3.6 Million Likes

Late basketball player, Kobe Bryant was loved by so many people, including those who were uninterested in basketball, so the news of his death attracted global attention. The legendary basketball player passed on in January 2020 and Obama’s tweet was posted the same day, amassing a total of 3.6 million likes.

7. Greta Turnberg’s Response to Andrew Tate’s Arrest — 3.5 Million Likes

The clash between Swedish Environmental Activist, Greta Thunberg and American Social Media personality/former professional kick-boxer, Andrew Tate is not one to be forgotten so soon. The initial tweets also attracted millions of likes on Twitter as we will see later in this article, however, this response by Thurnberg also amassed a total of 3.5 million likes on Twitter.

Thunberg’s tweet was a response to Tate’s arrest in Romania.

8. Andy Milonakis’ Hilarious Comment on Astronauts Who Left Earth — 3.4 Million Likes

NASA astronauts travelled into space on May 30, 2020, and American comedian and rapper, Andy Milonakis congratulated them, telling them it was a good choice to have left the earth. This savage comment has had 3.4 million likes to date. Milonakis himself was shocked to see the likes as he commented on the post a day after, saying “1 Million Likes. Crazy”. 

9. Elon Musk’s Comment on Twitter Ban — 3.1 Million Likes

This particular comment by an American billionaire, Elon Musk amassed a lot of comments and many believe he was talking about bringing Donald Trump back to Twitter. After Musk acquired Twitter, however, he indeed reinstated Trump’s account but the former president has refused to return, probably because he has a social media platform to his name- Truth Social.

10. Twitter’s Tweet — 3.1 Million Likes

Starting off the list of the top 10 most-liked tweets in Twitter history is a tweet posted by Twitter. One would not imagine that Twitter’s post would not amass millions of likes but this was a lot of likes! The post “hello literally everyone” attracted 3.1 million likes.
