Nickelodeon has become one of the most-watched channels on various decoders across the world. Asides teenagers, adults have also found the channel to be quite interesting, thanks to some of the great shows aired on the channel.

Over the years, many shows on Nickelodeon have amassed millions of views during one-time premieres and even more subsequently. In this article, RNN will highlight the top 10 most-viewed Nickelodeon shows of all time.

10. The Penguins of Madagascar

The Penguins of Madagascar is a computer-animated Nickelodeon series co-produced with DreamWorks Animation. It is the first Nicktoon (Nickelodeon Cartoon) co-produced with DreamWorks Animation. The episode titled “Launchtime”/”Haunted Habitat” amassed a total of 6.44 million views the first day it aired (March 28, 2009).

The episode is part of the 48-episode series of the Season One which aired from November 2008 to February 2010. The Penguins of Madagascar last aired on December 19, 2015.

9. Big Time Rush

Almost everyone loved Big Time Rush! The American musical sitcom TV series aired on Nickelodeon from November 2009 to July 2013.

“Big Time School of Rocque” is an episode from the very first season of the series and it amassed a total of 6.77 million views on January 18, 2010 when it was first aired. The sitcom focuses on the mishap of four Hockey players Kendall Knight, James Diamond, Carlos Garcia, and Logan Mitchell, after they were picked for a boy band by a popular music producer, Gustavo Rocque.

8. Zoey 101

Zoey 101 is a comedy drama series created by popular TV producer, Dan Schneider . The series holds a record of being the most expensive production ever for a Nickelodeon standard; it was shot completely on location in Malibu.

“Goodbye Zoey?” episode aired on January 4, 2008 and made the series one of the most-viewed Nickelodeon shows of all time. It had a total of 7.28 million views that day. The series won different awards like a Neox Fan Award, three Young Artist Awards, and two Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

7. FRED: The Movie

“FRED: The Movie” is an original Nickelodeon movie that aired on September 18, 2010. The film was first considered for a theatrical release before it premiered on Nickelodeon in the United Stated instead.

On the day it premiered, it had a total of 7.60 million views, making it the 7th on the list of the most-watched Nickelodeon shows of all time.

“FRED: The Movie” is a tale of the adventures of Fred Figglehorn, a hyperactive teenager who believes himself to be a great singer. He embarks on a journey to find his crush, Judy, after he finds out she has moved, thus dashing his hopes for a duet with her, like she did with his rival and bully, Kevin. The movie was later released theatrically in the United Kingdom and Ireland on December 17, 2010.

6. Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards

The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards have earned a lot of views since its inception in 1987. The show is an annual children’s award ceremony produced by Nickelodeon. Also known as KCAs or Kids’ Choice, The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards is usually held in March or April in honor of the biggest film, music, sports, and TV shows of the year.

The winners emerge via votes by global Nickelodeon viewers. It features celebrity guests and musical acts as performers and hosts. So far, the animated series, SpongeBob SquarePants has won the most Kids’ Choice awards.

The 2008 and 2009 editions were the most viewed of all time, with a total of 7.74 and 7.68 million respectively

5. Drake & Josh

Next on our list of the top 10 most-viewed Nickelodeon shows of all time is the American Teen sitcom, Drake & Josh

The series depicts the story of two teenage stepbrothers, Drake and Josh, living together despite personality differences. The brothers were played by Drake Bell and Josh Peck (named Drake Parker and Josh Nichols in the series).

The series officially ended on September 16, 2007, however between 2006 to 2008, different films from the series were released and “Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh” (also known as Drake & Josh: Best Christmas Ever) is the highest-viewed series so far. Aired on December 5, 2008 as the last film from the Drake & Josh franchise, the movie had 8.10 million views the same day.

4. The Fairly OddParents

The Fairly OddParents is an American animated TV series following the adventures of a 10-year-old boy with two fairy godparents- Cosmo and Wanda. The series revolve around his godparents granting him wishes to solve his problems everyday.

With a total of 8.81 million views, the beginning of the Season 6 edition aired on February 18, 2008, becoming the 4th on the list of the most-watched Nickelodeon shows of all time to date. The episode “Fairly OddBaby” was the first of the 20-episode season and it earned the show the title of being among the most-viewed nickelodeon shows of all time.

3. SpongeBob SquarePants

From Nickelodeon’s Statistics, SpongeBob SquarePants is one of the most loved shows on the American channel. Different episodes of the show make up the most-viewed Nickelodeon shows of all time. From “Dunces and Dragons” to “Have You Seen This Snail?” to “What Ever Happened to SpongeBob?” and “Truth or Square”, these series have amassed millions of views independently.

So far, the episode with the highest views on the show is “Atlantis SquarePantis” with 9.22 million views when it was first aired.

2. iCarly

iCarly is another Nickelodeon show on this list that has more than one episode with millions of views upon its first release. However, the episode with the highest views at its first premiere is “iSaved Your Life”. The episode amassed a total of 11.16 million views

The American teen sitcom was created by star producer, Dan Schneider and it aired on Nickelodeon from 2007 to 2012. After the series however, the casts from iCarly went on to star in other Nickelodeon shows, maintaining their characters.

1. Rugrats

Rugrats is the most-watched Nickelodeon show of all time. Although it is not one of the most popular, the 8th season garnered a lot of views upon its first release on July 21, 2001. The episode titled “All Growed Up” had 11.91 million views at its first premiere.

Since this feat was achieved, no other episode of Rugrats has amassed that amount of views. Perhaps, the two-year interval between the previous and the 8th season whetted the appetite of viewers and made them watch the comeback in their numbers.
