The rate at which Nigerian music is dominating the world is truly fascinating. nigerian music artists have gone ahead to break records in the world’s music industry filling up large venues including iconic venues such as the O2 Arena, Accor Arena in Paris, and even the iconic Madison Square in New York.

Thanks to these artists Nigerian music has now grown to become a household name all over the world. These artists have held concerts and music tours that have attracted millions of music lovers worldwide.  In recognition of this global success, we have compiled a list of the top 10 biggest Nigeria Music concerts held overseas.

1.  Burna Boy’s London Stadium Concert (60,000)

Burna Boy made history on the 5th of June 2023 as not just the first  African artist to sell out a  stadium concert in the United Kingdom. He also set the record for the biggest Nigerian music concert held overseas. The concert had a total attendance of 60,000 people, who according to the same report sang the Singer’s lyrics back to him. International superstars Like Stormzy and Dave performed alongside Burna Boy on a giant merry-go-round.

2. Wizkid’s O2 Arena Three days Concert  (48,000)

Wizkid historic feat at the O2 arena in 2021 is one of the biggest Nigerian concerts held overseas. The concert was held for three days from November 28 to December 1, 2021, making his mark as the first African artist to do so. According to numerous reports, the tickets for the concert sold out in 12 minutes joining Beyonce, Spice Girls, and others as one of the fastest artists to sell out the iconic venue. The concert featured performances from notable Nigerian Artists like Burna Boy C. Kay, Tems, Bella Shurmda, and many others.

3. Wizkid’s Tottenham  Stadium Concert (45,000)

On July 29, 2023, Wizkid performed in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, becoming the first African artist to sell out the stadium. The concert kicked off the European leg of Wizkid’s “More Love, Less Ego” tour and was no doubt one of the biggest Nigerian music concerts held overseas, with a total attendance of 45,000 People.  Additionally, the event featured music performances by the highlife band The Cavemen and Wande Coal.

4. Burna Boy’s New York Stadium Concert (41,000)

Burna Boy New York stadium concert at the Citi Field Stadium on the 8th of July 2021 is also one of the biggest Nigerian Music concerts in the world. The concert which was a total sold out attracted a total number of 41 thousand people and was also the first stadium concert by an African Artist in the US. Aside from Burna Boy, the concert featured performances from other musicians like Nissi and Dave. According to Rolling Stone, celebrities like SZA and Busta Rhymes were present at the concert as fans and well-wishers.

5.  Burna Boy’s GelreDome Concert  (41,000)

As part of his Love Damini Stadium tour, Burna hosted a historic and iconic concert at the GelreDome, in Arnhem Netherlands. The Concert which attracted over 41,000 people to the venue is no doubt one of the biggest Nigerian music concerts in the world. It also holds the record for the first African Stadium concert in the Netherlands. The concert was held on the 23rd of July 2023 and is no doubt of one the biggest music concerts ever held by Burna Boy.

6. Burna  Boy’s Paris Stadium concert (40,000)

Prior to the iconic concert in GelreDome, Burna Boy held a concert at the Paris La Defense Arena, a 40,000 venue capacity in Paris. The Concert which was completely sold out is no doubt one of the biggest Nigerian Music concerts,  held overseas. According to reports, using such capacity in France was an unprecedented feat for African artists. The concert was one of his iconic stops for his ‘Love, Damini’ Stadium Tour.  The singer performed alone, songs off his 2022 release Grammy-nominated 6th album ‘Love, Damini’.

7. Burna Boy’s Jamaica Stadium Concert  (35,000)

The Love Damini Stadium tour was an unprecedented feat for an African artist, one of the stops for the tour was at Kingston Stadium in Jamaica, also known as the Jamaica National Stadium on December 18, 2022. While Burna Boy performed numerous songs from his arsenal of hits, national acts Like Popcaan and Lila Ike shook the National Stadium to its core performing to a crowd of 35,000 people. The concert was an unprecedented feat for  African music and was no doubt one of the biggest Nigerian Music concerts held overseas.

8. Davido Sate Farm Arena  Concert  (21,000)

Multiple award-winning singer, Davido, with his State Farm Arena concert In Atlanta USA,  joins the list of the biggest Nigerian concerts held overseas. The concert was part of the A.W.A.Y festival announced by the singer in 2022. It was held on the 19th of November 2023, attracting 21,000 people.  The star-studded festival was categorized as the homecoming of the Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer and featured performances from stars like Maryokun Musa Keys,  DJ Spinall, Lo Jay, and many others.

9. Asake’s O2 Arena Concert (20,000)

YBNL signee, Asake recently joined the list of Nigerians who have sold out the Iconic  O2 Arena,  The concert which was held on the 30th of  August  2023 attracted 20,000 people, making it one of the biggest Nigerian concerts held overseas.  According to reports, the Singer delivered a spectacular performance from his hit-studded catalog. The concert also featured guest performances from top artists such as Tiwa Savage, Fireboy, Fridayy, and  Olamide.

10. Rema’s O2  Arena Concert (20,000)

Afrobeats Prince, Rema concludes the list of Nigerian concerts held overseas with his Ravage uprisings at the O2 Arena at on November 14, 2023. The sold-out event, with a capacity of 20,000, witnessed an overflow of Nigerian celebrities and fans who flocked to London. Rema joined the ranks of other award-winning Nigerian artists such as Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake, who have successfully sold out the arena.
