Woman Who Breastfeeds Snake to Deal with Villagers Arraigned Before Court

A Zimbabwean woman has left the residents of Nenohwe village in utter shock after she was reportedly caught at her friend’s house, breastfeeding a giant snake.

The woman identified as Gogo Savie reportedly caught by a 12-year-old girl.

According to her, the woman was mentioning names of fellow villages that she needs her pet to deal with as she breastfed the snake.

It was gathered that the young girl reported the incidence to Gogo Ethel, the woman in whose house the snake was breastfed, and seeing that wasn’t taking any action, she told other villagers.

Consequently, the two friends Gogo Savie and Gogo Ethel were arraigned before a chief Mutambara court on the charges of witchcraft.

The 12-year-old who is a key witness stood before the court on Saturday, March 13, she said:

“I saw Gogo Nenohwe breastfeeding a very big snake which had a red cloth and beads tied around it. After breastfeeding it, she took out a plate of food and fed the snake. I did not see what food she was feeding it, but I heard her muttering names of fellow villagers and telling the snake to deal with them.”

In furtherance, Gogo Ethel’s niece, Maria also confirmed the story saying that she used to share a room with the giant snake.

According to her:

“I used to sleep in the room where Gogo Nenohwe was seen breastfeeding the snake. The snake stays in that room. I stopped using the room because of that and begged my aunt to move me to another room. Sometimes the snake comes out to bask in the sun.”

A number of villagers also disclosed that they have come across the snake with red cloth tied around it.

However, Gogo Ethel denies being culpable of the act, noting that she didn’t act on the little girl’s report because of her inability to travel to the chief’s court to report.

She said:

“I did not have money to bring the matter to your court. I also did not confront Nenohwe because I knew that once I confronted her, I would need to bring the matter before the chief’s court, yet I couldn’t do that at that moment.”

Meanwhile, efforts are being made to capture to giant snake and bring it before the court.
