Why The United States May Retain The World Power In Years To Come

It is no longer news that there is a power struggle between the United States of America and China on the international scene.

Although Few analysts have predicted that China is expected to surpass the United States as the world’s biggest economy in a few years and replace them as the new superpower, here is why the united states may retain the world power in years to come.

1. Military power and technological weapons.

Despite China thriving economic rivalry with the United States, it is still way behind the United States in terms of military power and technological weapons. Which are important factors for a country that wants to be a world Power

Can China with its low military strength, be as formidable and complete a superpower as the United States has been for the last eight decades?

2. Geopolitical and cultural challenges

The Soviet Union competed with the US to claim superpower status during the Cold War period, despite matching America in terms of alliances and military power it was never a match for US domination economically or culturally.

Just like the Soviet Union, China faces geopolitical and cultural challenges which will deter it from attaining the world power status. One of the things that will deter China from attaining the world power status is the lack of acceptance and respect from its fellow countries due to its communist ideology. The United States due to its democratic ideology have an ideological, political, and cultural advantage compared to a Communist China.

3. Formidable Political System

Another reason why the United States may retain the world power in years to come is that its political system is resilient to any attack from destabilizing forces. Unlike China who is surrounded by several powerful and competing countries such as  Russia and India, which have the dream of becoming  World power.

Aside from these countries dreaming of becoming World power, these countries have had several disputes with China, therefore, making China unsafe and insecure to freely engage in political and military projects in other parts of the world as the US does.

Aside from the military, political and cultural challenges deterring China from taking over the World Power, the United States has everything to retain the world power in Years to Come.
