Seven things only UNILORIN students can relate with

As a student applying for admission to the University of Ilorin, one of the most competitive universities in Nigeria, it’s important to understand the challenges and requirements for gaining admission.

UNILORIN has been a highly sought-after institution for over a decade, and this may not be changing soon.

According to the data RNN recovered from JAMB, 108,917 students applied for admission to UNILORIN in 2019, but only 11,616 were accepted. This means that only about 12% of applicants were offered a spot at UNILORIN.

Furthermore, the approved admission quota for UNILORIN is 12,227 students per session, meaning that even if this quota is met, thousands of applicants will still not be accepted.

This high level of competitiveness raises the question of what steps can be taken to increase your chances of being admitted to UNILORIN. One important factor to consider is the UNILORIN Post UTME examination, which we will be discussing further in this article.

UNILORIN Admission

After JAMB, some institutions only conduct a screening process by reviewing the documents of their applicants.

However, other institutions, in addition to meeting the JAMB cut-off mark, also conduct a Post UTME examination to determine admission. In most schools, Direct Entry candidates are not required to take the Post UTME exam.

But, unfortunately, that is not the case at UNILORIN. All UTME and DE applicants are required to participate in the UNILORIN Post UTME examination, which is where many applicants fall short and lose their chance of gaining admission.

It’s important to understand that passing JAMB and meeting the cut-off mark does not guarantee admission to UNILORIN. Even if you score 400/400 in UTME, if you don’t pass the UNILORIN Post UTME with a minimum of 50%, you may not be considered for admission.

With this in mind, it is important to familiarize yourself with the structure of the UNILORIN Post UTME examination and the areas that will be covered in order to increase your chances of passing.

The Question Structure for UNILORIN Post UTME Screening

The UNILORIN Post UTME is a computer-based test (CBT) that consists of 50 questions randomly selected from four subjects: English Language, Mathematics, General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning.

All applicants, regardless of their desired course of study, will be tested in these subjects.  To be considered for admission, candidates must score at least 50% pass average on the examination. However, it is recommended to score above this pass average to increase the chances of admission.

To assist students in their preparation, RNN has designed a Quiz which is derived from the official UNILORIN Post UTME Past Questions and Answers. We encourage students to test and challenge their knowledge with this online screening quiz as they prepare for the examination.

We wish you all the best in your pursuit of admission to the University of Ilorin.
