The twin sister of 20-year-old Favour Agbro has revealed that her family spent about N7 million on medical treatment before the young woman died after allegedly being raped by Delta-based content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba.
The disclosure came in a video that surfaced on Friday, as the family continued to demand justice over the incident that has generated widespread public attention.
Family Speaks on Medical Expenses
In the emotional video, Favour’s twin sister said the family exhausted huge sums while trying to save her life after she allegedly consumed a poisonous substance.
She claimed they spent about N7 million on hospital bills, recounting how they rushed Favour to different medical facilities in a desperate effort to keep her alive.
The family also displayed what appeared to be medical documents and payment records while narrating the ordeal.
Rape Allegation and Suicide Attempt
According to the Delta State Police Command, Favour travelled to Asaba on June 1, 2026, after she was allegedly invited by Ogbonna for content creation training.
Police said the suspect allegedly took her to a hotel, where she claimed she was raped and physically assaulted.
Investigators said Favour later returned home, informed her family about the incident and recorded a video accusing Ogbonna before allegedly ingesting a toxic substance. She later died despite efforts to save her.
Police Investigation Continues
The Delta State Police Command confirmed that Ogbonna was arrested following a petition from the victim’s family.
Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe said the suspect has made statements to investigators, adding that the investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police.
Reports also indicate that Ogbonna allegedly sought an out-of-court settlement with the family, describing the incident as “a very terrible mistake,” although the matter remains under investigation.
Public Reactions
The latest revelation has triggered fresh reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing sympathy for the family and renewing calls for justice.
While some social media users questioned the reported hospital expenses, others argued that the focus should remain on the allegations and the tragic loss of the young woman.
Authorities have yet to conclude investigations, and no court has determined the allegations against the suspect.
