Nigerian socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has said the Igbo community now has access to President Bola Tinubu through his son, Seyi Tinubu, as he pledged support for the president’s re-election in 2027.
Chief Priest made the statement in a video circulating on social media on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, while addressing supporters during an outdoor gathering.
Chief Priest Speaks on Tinubu Support
“We Igbos now have access to Mr. President through his son, Seyi Tinubu. That’s why we’re doing everything to make sure he’s re-elected,” Chief Priest said.
Additional remarks attributed to him from the same appearance included claims that people from Imo State strongly support the City Boy Movement, a pro-Tinubu group.
“Imo is APC, it’s zero competition,” he was quoted as saying.
From Obi Supporter to Tinubu Backer
Chief Priest, who serves as the Imo State Director of the City Boy Movement, previously supported Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi during the 2023 election.
He has since shifted his political allegiance to Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing his earlier support for Obi as a mistake influenced by ethnic sentiments.
The businessman has also urged South-East voters to support Tinubu, arguing that doing so could create political opportunities for the region, including the possibility of an Igbo president in the future.
Chief Priest Backs Tinubu Ahead of 2027
Chief Priest has repeatedly linked his support for Tinubu to Seyi Tinubu, who is married to an Igbo woman, and has presented the relationship as a potential avenue for closer engagement between the South-East and the presidency.
He has also displayed customised luxury vehicles carrying Tinubu and APC branding as part of his political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 election.
Despite failing to secure an APC House of Representatives ticket in Imo State earlier in 2026, Chief Priest has continued to express support for Tinubu and his Renewed Hope agenda.
