Biography
Stonebwoy was born as Livingstone Etse Satekla on 5th of march 1988. He was born in Ashaiman in the Greater Accra region of Ghana and began making music in his early school days.
He attended the Methodist Day Secondary School for his secondary education and continued at the University of Professional Studies, where he earned a degree in marketing in 2013.
As earlier stated, Stonebwoy began making music in his early school days. He realized his talents and abilities as a lyricist and scriptwriter at an early age and was writing and acting in drama pieces as far back as his fourth year in primary school.
Stonebwoy began his professional music career in 2012, under “Samini Music”, recording his first hit single “Climax” featuring Samini and mad. He also released Ghetto Love” featuring Irene Logan and his debut album “Grade 1 Album” in the same year.
Stonebwoy has since then released additional three albums which include: Neccesarry Evil in 2014, Epistles of Mama in 2017 and Angola Junction in 2020. He is also an actor, having appeared in the movies Happy Death Day and My name is Ramadan.

Career Success
Stonebwoy is not only considered a “multifaceted artiste” due to the various musical styles he possesses but also the king of reggae and dance hall in Africa. His first two singles, Climax and Ghetto love earned him his first nominations at the Ghana Music Awards
In 2015, Stonebwoy received numerous awards including the Best International Act: Africa at the BET Awards, due to the critical and commercial success of his sophomore album, “Necessary Evil”. He also received the Artist of the Year and the Album of the Year at the Ghana Music Award.
His third studio album, Epistles of mama, peaked at number thirteen on the Billboard top 200 albums chart. It was also rated as the second-best album in the world according to Reggaeville.
Stopnebwoy is also only the Ghanian artist to receive 2 Billboard plaques for his features on Collie Buddz’s “Hybrid Album” and Sizzla Kalonji’s “I’m Yours” album. The two albums ranked #1 and #2 respectively on Billboard charts thereby cementing Stonebwoy’s name in Billboard’s history.
