Controversies and Personal Life

Sammie Okposo Controversies and Personal Life

Sammie before his marriage to Ozioma was notorious for dating public figures in the entertainment industry, The delta born singer dated the likes of Stella Damasus, Gloria Ibru, Kate Henshaw and Janet Fateye but none of the relationships was able to form into a Marriage.

Controversies With Actress Kate Henshaw

Sammie Okposo was caught in the middle of controversy a few years back after the popular Nigerian actress Kate Henshaw accused him of Domestic Violence in an interview. The actress who didn’t specifically state his name gave an accurate description of him while noting that she was violently by the singer during the years they spent together.

She said: “I can’t withstand violence in a relationship. I was once a victim. The relationship lasted for about three/four years. I didn’t know who I was then. I was so timid, I almost stopped smiling and almost stopped laughing, but there was this inner strength in me that helped me to rediscover myself. In fact, I had no self-esteem then.

I wanted to change and be who I was not, based on the ill-treatment and violent nature of my man then. He was constantly abusing, beating and battering me inside the house and in public places. I think there was a time when I walked around with a bandage on my leg, courtesy of my violent lover.

Funny enough, this violent lover of mine claimed to love me and wanted to marry me then. I wanted to marry him. I had started buying pots and other household items because I was in love. I wanted to settle down, I wanted to have my children with him. I wanted to be happy and continue to do my work but he was that bad. I kept thinking he would change, but he didn’t. I tried my best to be everything to him, but finally, I said enough was enough, this relationship was not of God and not for me.

During those turbulent periods, I was ashamed. I couldn’t tell anybody. Why did I stay? It’s very ironical because after the beating comes the gifts, the begging, the cries and words like ‘It’s your fault, I’d try and change, it’s not me..’ Everybody will now be saying forgive him, he’s begging. In one of the beatings, he broke my ankle..but let’s not dwell much on things of the past. I cannot tell you his name, we are both separately married now and still waxing stronger in the entertainment industry. Those that knew us then know the person and they also know his name.

Recent Infedility Confession.

As stated at the beginning of the article, Sammie Okposo took to Instagram to render a public apology to his wife, Ozioma after cheating on her while he was in the United States.

It would be interesting to note that Sammie’s apology came barely 24 hours after an American-based woman, identified as African Doll, accused the singer of impregnating her, and not taking responsibility for it

The woman made the revelation on Monday while talking to a YouTuber on Obodo Oyibo TV, stating that Okposo abandoned her after she told him about the pregnancy.

“We both know that we didn’t use protection. We both know that we were wrong. There is still a way to handle things. He didn’t handle it right. I am not saying he has to bow to me but there is a way you do things. Turning your back on me is wrong. Any woman on earth won’t feel okay about it. It doesn’t feel good to be abandoned or to be thrown to the side. I cannot be walking around thinking about it, life goes on,” she told Obodo Oyinbo TV.

On the plans she has for the pregnancy, African Doll said, “I will keep the baby, I don’t really believe in abortion. Fornication is a sin. The bible says he who is without sin should cast the first stone. It is not my intention to hurt anybody but to bring life to the situation.”

Apologizing to his wife and his fans Sammie wrote:  “Dear Friends, I need to bring a very unfortunate incident to your attention as I am not proud of it but know that this is the right thing to do.

“On my recent trip to the USA (Late 2021), I got intimately involved with a lady, knowing that this was not appropriate as a married man and a minister of the gospel. I am ashamed and regret my actions as it has caused a lot of pain to my dear wife, Ozioma, my family and I.

“As I work in making peace with God, repenting and asking His forgiveness, I am suspending myself from all ministry work until full restoration as this is what is proper and what I know I owe God and His people.

“To my wife, Ozioma, I am sincerely sorry I put you through this shameful and embarrassing situation. I broke your trust and disappointed you.

“Your forgiveness of my moral failure and poor judgement is important to me. I pray I will eventually be able to build back the trust and confidence every single day forth.

“I want to take this moment and apologise to all fathers and mothers of the Faith and ministers of the Gospel for my behavior and moral failure.

“I won’t be here if not for your investment and belief in what God has called me to do. I sincerely apologize for this embarrassing situation.

“To all that have been a part of my ministry, followed my ministry or know me personally, I am truly sorry for disappointing you.

“I regret any pain or disappointment that this news of my moral failure and poor judgement may cause you and I am truly sorry for disappointing you. I humbly ask that you continue to pray for me.”
