Reality TV star Phyna has revealed that she has no interest in having biological children, stating that she would rather focus on raising pets based on her current outlook on life and relationships.
Why Phyna says no to biological children
The former BBNaija winner said her decision is deeply personal, noting that her experiences have shaped how she views motherhood and long-term commitment.
“I’m very fertile, but I don’t have any desire to have a biological child. I just wanna be a cat and dog mum,” she said.
Link to relationship experiences
Phyna explained that repeated heartbreaks and difficult relationships can influence how some women approach family life as they grow older.
According to her, these experiences sometimes shift priorities toward peace and emotional stability rather than traditional expectations.
“I think the love for animals in women kicks in when we’re approaching our 30s… especially when you don’t see yourself settling down,” she added.
Mixed reactions trail statement
Her comments have triggered conversations online, with many Nigerians sharing differing opinions on her stance.
While some supported her right to choose, others criticised what they described as a sweeping generalisation about women and relationships.
One user wrote, “Not every woman wants kids, and that’s okay,” while another added, “She’s generalising too much.”
The conversation continues to gain traction as debates around personal choices, relationships, and motherhood remain a recurring topic in entertainment circles.
“I’m very fertile, but I have no desire to have a biological child. Instead, I want to adopt dogs and cats. It feels like a woman’s love for animals really kicks in as she approaches 30 — especially when she refuses to settle for less.”
