Pastor was beaten to coma for refusing masquerade entering the church
A Clergyman who was attacked in the night with dangerous weapons by the angry youth for his refusal in allowing them to perform their tradition in the church is in a coma
A Clergyman was seriously beaten to a coma on Monday night, March 1, by angry youths for refusing masquerade in the church in order for them to perform their tradition.
It was reported that the trouble escalates when the clergyman identified as Pastor Michael Samson, overseeing the United Evangelical Church in the Iyano community under Ibaji Local Government area of Kogi state denied the youth’s entry into the church with their masquerade while they were performing a ceremony during the day.

The youths were seriously furious by the pastor’s refusal, returned on Monday night at about 11 pm with dangerously and deadly weapons attacked the pastor while he was asleep.
It was reported that the pastor is presently in a coma, he was admitted to Idah General Hospital, Kogi state.
The pastor reported the incident to the tribune said,
“They wanted to perform to the gods of the land which we call ‘Ane’ in Igala land. The pastor told them that this is not the right place to do it and they should leave. After leaving, they came back in the night fully kitted with dangerous objects to beat him to Coma.
“They were up to 20. We are praying right now that nothing should happen to our brother because he is currently in critical condition.
“The incident has been reported to the Police Division in Onyedega under Ibaji LGA.”
The Police are reportedly on the trail of persons allegedly behind the act.
