Osimhen awarded Best African International Footballer ahead of Salah and Mahrez

Napoli sensational forward Victor Osimhen has won the Best African International Player award at an event hosted in Ghana.

The Nigerian ace, won the award for the first time after his leading Napoli to their first Serie A title after 33 years. scoring a total of 26 goals and also becoming the first African to be crowned the highest goal scorer in Serie A.

Osimhen won the award of Best African International footballer after getting the highest number of votes ahead of Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah, Manchester city’s Riyad Mahrez, and Yassine Bounou of Sevilla.

The Nigerian international was also named as the best striker in Serie A and is the favourite to win the African Player of the Year.

The Napoli hotshot has been speculated to be on the move this Summer, and commanding a record-breaking fee, with Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munich linked with the Striker.

“Aurelio De Laurentiis wants €150million (£128m) for Osimhen,” Di Marzio said. “It’s an initial request.

“I think that the only two clubs in the Premier League that can try to get Victor Osimhen are Chelsea and Man United. I think Bayern Munich are out of this race.”
