A Nigerian mother has raised concerns over food safety after sharing a video in which she claimed to have found a live worm and signs of decay inside a pack of Noreos sandwich biscuits meant for her two-year-old son.

The video, which circulated on social media on Friday and Saturday, September 4 and 5, 2026, shows the woman opening the vanilla-flavoured biscuits and examining several pieces.

Mother Shows Alleged Contamination

The biscuits shown in the video appear to have holes, a crumbling texture and debris mixed with the white cream filling. Small worm-like or larval insects can also be seen around the biscuits.

The woman is heard expressing shock as she examines the contents, while text displayed on the video warns Nigerian parents to watch the footage.

The pack, branded Noreos and manufactured under Haansbro, is also shown with manufacturing and other product details visible.

Video Circulates On Social Media

Versions of the video have been shared by several social media accounts, including @instablog9ja, drawing comments from Nigerians concerned about the alleged contamination.

However, the video alone does not establish whether the material inside the biscuits is a worm, larvae or another substance.

There has also been no independent laboratory test publicly confirming the contents shown in the footage.

No Official Confirmation Yet

As of the latest available information, Haansbro has not issued a public statement on the allegation, while there is no reported statement from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) confirming the incident.

The alleged contamination therefore remains a consumer claim shared on social media and has not been independently verified.

Consumers who discover suspected contamination in packaged food are generally advised to keep the product and packaging intact, avoid consuming it and report the matter to the relevant food safety authorities.
