The Nigerian Army has reportedly arrested two serving soldiers over their alleged involvement in providing unauthorised security at the wedding ceremony of content creators Peller and Jarvis in Lekki, Lagos.
According to reports, the soldiers were taken into custody on Tuesday after intelligence indicated they participated in security duties at the celebrity event without official approval.
Soldiers Identified
The arrested personnel were identified as Private Onasanya Ifeoluwa and Private Ukpai Onyinyechi.
Both soldiers are attached to the 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital (81DMSH), Obalende, Lagos.
Military sources said preliminary investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding their deployment and whether other personnel were involved.
Videos Sparked Attention
The development follows the circulation of videos from the wedding showing uniformed soldiers controlling crowds and escorting guests.
One of the widely shared clips allegedly showed a soldier escorting TikTok personality Ivanna into the venue, drawing significant attention on social media.
Army Investigating Incident
The Nigerian Army prohibits serving personnel from undertaking private security assignments or participating in unofficial deployments without proper authorisation.
Authorities said investigations are continuing, while the Army is expected to determine whether disciplinary action will follow.
