Lil Wayne was born as Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. on September 27, 1982. Not much is known about his parental background, apart from the fact that his mother was a cook who gave birth to him when she was 19 years old and the father abandoned the family when he was two years old.
Lil Wayne attended Lafayette Elementary School and later proceeded to Eleanor McMain Secondary School, where he stayed for two years. He furthered his secondary education at Marion Abramson Senior High School but dropped out at age of 14 to focus on his musical career.
