The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) sometime in June 2021 launched the online continuous voter registration exercise. This allows for eligible Nigerians intending to vote in election to register for their Voters Card by themselves.

On the INEC portal, new voters can pre-register and schedule an appointment to complete the process at the designated center.

In furtherance, those who have registered in the past can access the platform to review their voter registration status.

Some of the features on the portal include the ability to update personal information or transfer voter registration to another polling unit.

Registered voters can also request for replacement of damaged or defaced Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) on the portal.

Steps to Register Your Voter’s Card Online in Nigeria

Here are seven steps on how to register for your Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) online.

  1. Visit the portal https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/
  2. Create an account with a valid email address
  3. Fill the form
  4. Select convenient date and time for biometric capture
  5. Print application slip containing QR code
