Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have welcomed their second child — a baby girl — together in the United States.

According to Reuters, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex broke the news in a joint statement on Sunday.

In the statement, the lovebirds said their bundle of joy — christened Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor — was born on Friday at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California.

The couple also disclosed that their newborn baby is more than what they “could have ever imagined” while appreciating the support they have felt from across the globe.

“On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe,” the statement read.

“Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.”

The statement said that both the mother and baby were back at home and doing well.

It added that the baby was named after Queen Elizabeth II, her great-grandmother, whose family nickname is Lilibet.

The statement also explained that Diana, her middle name, was chosen to honor Harry’s late mother.

The pair had Archie, their first child, in 2019. They thereafter disclosed that they were expecting their second baby in February this year.

In March, the spotlight beamed on the couple following their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey wherein they bared lurid details of their struggles with the British royal family.
