few tips to getting a good and peaceful night's sleep

Over time, I’ve listened to a number of complaints from a few friends about being tired and unfit for the activities of the day. And this is due to their inability to get a good and peaceful night’s sleep. Later on, I also discovered I go through a similar situation.

After a very stressful day at school, returning late to the house, having to do one or two things, probably cook and doing some cleaning and definitely, some necessary preparations for the activities of the next day. Before all these would be concluded, it’s already late at night but what do I do after then? I lie down on the bed and stay on the phone for a long time, even till past midnight and then have to wake up early again for the next day’s activities. Then during the day, I tend to get so tired and half inactive, it continually affected me and I wasn’t having it anymore at some point, so, what did I do? I tried some tips out and guess what? They worked.

Here, I’m going to share some of the tips with you. These tips can also be useful; that’s for people who suffer from insomnia. Sometimes the cause of insomnia is just some simple things we do without taking cognisance.

The following are a few tips for getting a good and peaceful night’s sleep:

  • Avoid taking coffee in the evening
  • Take food that contains magnesium
  • Create a music playlist that suits the atmosphere
  • Take a shower
  • Get a comfortable bed or mattress
  • Get comfortable beddings too
  • Put away your phone a few hours before you fall asleep

AVOID TAKING COFFEE IN THE EVENING

It is no news that caffeine can keep one awake without dosing. Taking caffeine in the evening might be the reason you are unable to sleep. Yes, it is true that some people’s systems tend to be able to handle caffeine well, but you never can tell if the intake of coffee is slightly the reason behind your not being able to sleep or perhaps, one of the reasons. You can as well stop it for a while and be observant of the results. And besides, a study has proven that: “the body’s ability to recover from caffeine reduces as we age”.

TAKE FOOD THAT CONTAINS MAGNESIUM

Some studies have shown that little or no intake of magnesium can lead to poor sleep. So, eating some of the foods that contain magnesium sometimes might help control the situation of having poor sleep and improve it. Some of the foods that contain magnesium are Bananas, Vegetables, Chicken, and even fish. Give this a trial, it might work for you!

CREATE A MUSIC PLAYLIST THAT SUITS THE ATMOSPHERE

Music is magical! Music can help you feel relaxed after a stressful day and quickly put you to sleep feeling relaxed and calm. That way, you tend to get some sound sleep and wake up feeling cool and fit as a result of sound sleep.

TAKE A SHOWER

A shower helps you feel relaxed and gets you falling asleep real fast. Try to take a shower, play your music, and fall asleep pretty relaxed. You sure would sleep like a baby.

GET A COMFORTABLE BED OR MATTRESS

Hard beds sometimes lead to discomfort. After applying all the above tips, a hard bed can be a hindrance. They naturally cause people to wake up with body aches, try as much as possible to get comfortable bedding so you get to enjoy your night’s rest.

GET COMFORTABLE BEDDINGS TOO

Good beddings will work together with the other tips and give you that sound sleep you desire. Try as much as possible to get good beddings. This is also very important for your sound sleep.

PUT AWAY YOUR PHONE A FEW HOURS BEFORE YOU FALL ASLEEP

Another one of the few tips for getting a good and peaceful night’s sleep but quite a hard task. This might sound like a huge task, but trust me, it would be worth it. Rome wasn’t built in a day, with determination and taking steps, you’ll get used to it.
