A man identifying as a babalawo has called out Nigerian TikToker and streamer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, alleging that the content creator abandoned him after receiving spiritual assistance before becoming famous.
The claim is contained in a viral video circulating on TikTok and X, with Nigerian platform Instablog9ja sharing the clip on August 23, 2026.
Babalawo Makes Allegations
In the video, an elderly man wearing a patterned shirt claims he performed traditional spiritual work for Peller to help him “blow”, a Nigerian slang expression for achieving significant success or fame.
He also alleges that Peller previously visited his shrine while “crying for ground” and seeking help. According to the man, Peller has since forgotten him despite his rapid rise over the past three years.
The man urged Peller to “come and do the right thing” and warned of possible consequences, including struggling financially. He also claimed to have evidence of their alleged relationship, which he said he would release later.
Peller Yet to Respond
Peller, born Habeeb Hamzat in Ikorodu, Lagos, has become one of Nigeria’s most prominent young online entertainers, building a huge following through livestreams, comedy and digital content.
He has collaborated with several prominent personalities and gained international attention for his livestreams and online activities. He also won the Best Content Creator award at the Trace Awards and married fellow content creator Amoudu Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, in 2026.
Despite the allegations, Peller has not publicly responded to the video as of August 23.
Mixed Reactions Online
The allegation has generated mixed reactions, with some social media users making jokes about the idea of a traditional priest claiming that a client “used and dumped” him.
Others questioned the man’s motives, suggesting that the video could be an attempt to gain attention or seek financial compensation. Some users also dismissed the allegation, noting that no evidence has been independently presented to support the claims.
The man’s allegations remain unverified, and there is no independently confirmed evidence establishing that he provided spiritual services to Peller or that such assistance contributed to the TikToker’s rise.
