VeryDarkMan has accused Wunmi Aloba, widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, of allegedly forging a National Identification Number (NIN) document in connection with claims over her late husband’s assets.
The activist made the allegation in a video while questioning differences between the names reportedly appearing on Wunmi’s international passport and NIN records.
VeryDarkMan Questions Name Discrepancy
VeryDarkMan claimed Wunmi renewed her international passport in 2024, about one year after Mohbad’s death, and that the passport bears the name “Adebanjo Cynthia Omowumi.”
He questioned why the NIN information initially presented to him reportedly carried the name “Aloba Cynthia Omowumi,” arguing that the details on both documents should correspond.
“The name on the international passport and the information on your international passport must tally with the information on your NIN. So how come on your NIN, it is showing Aloba Cynthia Omowumi? But on your international passport, it is saying Adebanjo Cynthia Omowumi? Something is wrong,” he said.
Activist Makes Forgery Allegation
According to VeryDarkMan, the matter was taken to NIN authorities for verification, where he claimed the record showed “Cynthia Omowumi Adebanjo.”
He subsequently alleged that Wunmi had secretly forged an NIN document in an attempt to establish a claim over Mohbad’s wealth.
“Therefore, in order for Wumi to claim Mohbad’s wealth, Wumi secretly went to go and forge a document. This is a very big crime. This girl went to go and forge an NIN,” he alleged.
The allegation has not been independently established, and the claims remain those of the activist. No response from Wunmi Aloba was included in the material provided.
Questions Over Mohbad’s Death
VeryDarkMan also connected the alleged document discrepancy to unresolved questions surrounding Mohbad’s death, questioning why the singer’s brother, Adura, allegedly did not provide what he described as credible information about the circumstances surrounding the death.
“Could it be that this is the reason why Adura refused to give the credible information as to what led to the death of her brother? Could it be that this is why Wumi refused to speak in the earlier stage?” he asked.
The latest allegations add another layer to the continuing public dispute surrounding Mohbad’s estate, his widow and questions that have remained in the public domain since the singer’s death.
