A barber identified simply as Emeka has been arrested in Umuahia, Abia State, after police allegedly discovered a clay pot containing shaved human hair and other suspected fetish items in his one-room apartment.

The suspect was taken into custody following a complaint by his neighbour, Mr. Johnson Ikenga, who reportedly accused him of making threats.

Police Discover Pot Containing Human Hair

According to reports, police officers who responded to the complaint searched Emeka’s residence and allegedly found a clay pot filled with human hair believed to have been collected from customers, alongside other items suspected to be linked to ritual practices.

The discovery prompted officers attached to the Central Police Station in Umuahia to arrest the barber for further investigation.

Suspect Allegedly Admits Ownership

During interrogation, Emeka reportedly admitted that the clay pot belonged to him.

However, he was said to have failed to explain the purpose of the items recovered or how the human hair found inside the container was being used.

Police have since commenced further investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the discovery and whether any criminal offence was committed.
