Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing essential projects, particularly in the healthcare sector.

The governor made this pledge during the inauguration of the renovated General Hospital in Maru Local Government Area, reinforcing his focus on improving medical infrastructure across Zamfara State.

This was revealed in a statement on Sunday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, highlighting the administration’s ongoing efforts to upgrade medical facilities across the state.

Zamfara State Focuses on Statewide Hospital Renovation

According to the statement, Governor Lawal’s administration is renovating and equipping all general hospitals in Zamfara State.

While inspecting the upgraded infrastructure and advanced medical equipment at the Maru General Hospital, Lawal reiterated his mission to provide accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for the state’s people.

He emphasized, “The renovation works carried out in this hospital include upgrading the facilities to ensure that the people of Maru and its environs have access to decent healthcare. The renovation has modernized the physical structure and integrated advanced medical technologies and systems.”

Advanced Facilities and Reliable Power Supply

Lawal elaborated on the holistic approach taken during the hospital’s renovation, ensuring the facility can handle various medical conditions, from routine check-ups to complex surgeries.

The medical staff, he noted, are now better equipped to meet the highest standards of healthcare delivery.

“This holistic approach ensures that the General Hospital Maru is well-equipped to handle various medical conditions, from routine check-ups to complex surgeries. The staff in this hospital are now better equipped to deliver care services that meet the highest standards,” Lawal explained.

To ensure a continuous power supply, “This project includes providing 39-kilowatt solar power to ensure a reliable power supply to the hospital, which is crucial for the continuous operation of medical equipment and the comfort of patients,” the governor stated.

Enhanced Security and Accessibility

In addition to healthcare advancements, Governor Lawal highlighted steps taken to improve security and accessibility at the hospital.

“In addition, 35 streetlights have been installed at various locations of the hospital premises and its surroundings to enhance security and visibility, making the hospital environment safer for everyone,” he noted.

Lawal expressed hope that the people of Maru and the wider Zamfara State will make full use of these upgraded facilities, adding that he has instructed the Ministry of Health to maintain the hospital for continuous operation.

“I sincerely hope that the people of Maru and the entire Zamfara State will fully utilize these facilities. I have directed the Ministry of Health to take adequate measures to maintain the hospital and its continuous operation,” the governor added.
