Here are some of the youngest billionaires in Nigeria. Take note that their ranking isn’t determined by any arbitrary criterion. Furthermore, we are simply arranging these lists in an unofficial order. Let’s get on the list.

1. Igho Sanomi

Igho Sanomi  (born 17 May 1975) is a businessman, geologist, public speaker and philanthropist with business interests in oil, power, logistics, telecommunications, the maritime industry, aviation and real estate. He’s one of Nigeria’s youngest billionaire businessmen, with an estimated net worth of $1 billion.

He was born in Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria, he’s the fifth child and first son of a Catholic family. His father, Dickens Ogheneruemu Patrick Sanomi, was the second national vice-president of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) and a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in the Nigeria Police Force. His mother, Mabel Iyabo Sanomi, is a yeye jemo (tribal chief) of the Isotun Ijesha kingdom in Osun State in southwestern Nigeria and a former nurse. 

He is the executive director of Cosmos Oil AG and founder of Taleveras. He is the founder of Taleveras Group- Igho Sanomi’s business interests include telecommunications, shipping, aviation, engineering, construction and real estate investments.  He is also the son of a former Assistant Inspector General who makes millions of naira from his energy, building, and power business enterprises. It is also noteworthy that his company has vast shares in two Nigerian oil blocs. Sanomi founded Taleveras Group (a Nigerian energy-trading company) in 2004.

2. Ladi Delano

Ladi Delano is a British-born Nigerian technopreneur who, along with his co-founder and co-CEO Jide Odunsi, is making waves with his latest venture, Moove, the world’s first mobility fintech service. In 2019, Delano teamed up with fellow British-born Nigerian technopreneur Jide Odunsi to co-found his latest venture, Moove Africa BV. The project provides revenue-based financing to ride-hailing drivers in sub-Saharan Africa and has already enjoyed tremendous success, securing a highly profitable partnership with Uber and raising over $174.5 million in funding. Having captured the African market, Delano now aims to scale the model to new market needs in Asia, MENA, and Europe over the next six months.

Although he has Nigerian heritage, Delano was born, raised, and educated in London in the UK. According to startuptipsdaily.com, he attributes much of his success to his parents, who he describes as “unsung heroes” who made multiple sacrifices and did everything in their power to ensure their children received the education and support they needed to succeed in life. His father, a corporate executive and an MBA lecturer, spent hours studying business techniques with Delano, educating him on the things that, 20 years later, would turn him into one of Nigeria’s most successful entrepreneurs. He earned an MPA from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a Master of Science from Oxford University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Business from Oxford University.

3. Sijibomi Ogundele

Sijibomi Ogundele ( born April 8th 1981) is the CEO of Sujimoto Construction Limited; a trusted one-stop solution provider in Real Estate and Hospitality. He started his career in risk assessment in 2004, where he moved up to lending in SMEs and set up Moto Finance in Paris which later branched out in Accra, Dubai, Madrid and New York City; achieving significant industry milestones, then later moving into the Nigerian Real Estate industry. Seyi Tinubu (born October 13, 1985), Seyi is the only surviving son of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former leader of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress, now the president of Nigeria. Seyi had become of the most influential Nigerians and wealthy too.  Seyi Tinubu is worth millions of dollars. And he also enjoys patronage from state actors due to his father’s political connections.

5. Linda Ikeji

Linda Ifeoma Ikeji (born 19 September 1980) is a Nigerian blogger, writer, entrepreneur and former model. She is known for her blog and controversial publications online. Ikeji graduated from the University in 2004. In 2006, she started blogging as a hobby. At that time, the internet was not as prominent in Nigeria and she had to make her posts at a cybercafé.

 She became an active blogger in 2007 using a blogger sub-domain lindaikeji.blogspot.com and later obtained her domain www.lindaikejisblog.com. She also ventured into online radio broadcasting. The station is operated from the Linda Ikeji Media Office. Some of its programmes are broadcast live on Linda Ikeji TV.

 

6. Obinna Eyiegbu

Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, is a Nigerian Based businessman, entertainer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and show killer; Iyiegbu is the Chairman/Founder of the Cubana Group. Iyiegbu’s career as an entrepreneur started in 2006 when he founded a nightclub called Ibiza Club in Abuja. In 2009, he established a hospitality club called Cubana in Owerri, Imo State.

Obi Cubana was born on 12 April 1975. Obinna Iyiegbu, best known as Obi Cubana, is from Oba, a community in Demili-South Local Government Area in Anambra State, Nigeria. He is married to Ebele Iyiegbu and they have four children together.

Obi Cubana is currently one of the richest and most influential personalities, entertainers, show promoters, and entrepreneurs in Nigeria. His net worth is estimated to be $500 million, and this is based on his income, properties, and asset. The nightlife entrepreneur, who recently ventured into the real estate business via his Casa Cubana home, also has his eyes set on inscribing the Cubana signature in the United Kingdom with a Cubana Club. The club’s building began in earnest last year and was expected to have been completed and launched by February 2022. However, work is still ongoing on the building, which will also house a restaurant mainly serving Nigerian food. 7. Mark Essien

Mark Anthony Essien (born 18 December 1980) in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State is an entrepreneur, software developer and startup investor. He is the founder and CEO of Hotels. ng, one of the first online hotel booking websites in Nigeria. Before he founded Hotels. ng in 2013, Essien had previously built a file-sharing software called Gnumm (acquired by Snoopstar.com), followed by a language learning startup called Ingolingo.

In 2013, Essien founded Hotels. ng. Spark. ng made an initial investment of $75,000 and another investment of $150,000. In 2015, the company secured additional investment funding of $1.2 million from international investors EchoVC Pan-Africa Fund, a seed-stage technology fund, and Omidyar Network, the investment vehicle of eBay founder Pierre Omidyar. Essien stepped down as the CEO of HNG Internships, a programme he founded to solve the Nigerian software engineering talent problem. He handed over to Seyi Onifade

8. Jason Njoku

Jason Chukwuma Njoku (born 11 December 1980) is a British businessman. He is the co-founder and CEO of iROKOtv, a video-on-demand service for Nigerian movies.

Jason was born and raised in Deptford, South East London, his mother raised him and his three sisters and brother by herself, whilst working a full-time job in the National Health Service. He attended school in London, then moved to a village in Nigeria from the age of 12 to 15. After he returned to the United Kingdom, he attended college to complete his A-Levels, before securing a place at The University of Manchester where he read Chemistry. He graduated in 2005 with a 2:1 and launched Brash Magazine, a student publication which ran for three years before it closed in 2008.

Jason Njoku is married to Nollywood film star and producer Mary Remmy Njoku.

9. Joseph Eze Okafor

Joseph Eze OPkafor, popularly known as Jowi Zaza (born March 19 1985) is a Nigerian Igbo billionaire, he is 38 years old and originally from Anambra State. Jowi Zaza is one of the youngest billionaires in Nigeria. He has so much wealth at the young age of 38. His billionaire dad created the businesses and has since passed them over to him. He is not just a billionaire but a socialite known within elite Nigerian circles.

The billionaire businessman is the chief executive officer of Jezco Oil Nigeria Ltd, a multi-million dollar oil and gas firm founded by his father in 1980. After eight years of its establishment, the company became a fully licensed oil service company and an independent marketer of petroleum products in 1988.  Joseph Eze Okafor: Jowi Zaza’s father, Joseph Eze Okafor Snr, is a business magnate from Anambra and the founder of Jezco Oil. The original owner of Jezco Oil, Chief Joseph EzeOkafor Snr, is the dad of Nigerian entrepreneur and socialite Jowizaza.

10. Iyinoluwa Aboyeji

Iyinoluwa Samuel Aboyeji (born March 28, 1991) is a Nigerian entrepreneur. He is the co-founder of Andela and the former managing director of Flutterwave. Aboyeji was cited as one of the Top 100 most influential Africans by New African magazine in 2019.

Aboyeji is the general partner and co-founder of Future Africa, a platform that provides capital, coaching and community for mission-driven innovators.

After co-founding Future Africa, he served as the deputy director-general for Oby Ezekwesili’s 2019 presidential campaign. Aboyeji helped in building Andela and Flutterwave, two African technology companies. He is also the Co-founder and Chairman of Talent City Inc, a construction company.
