Nigerian and Grammy award-winning artist, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid has changed his name from the Wizkid to “Big Wiz” on Instagram.
Nigerian and Grammy award-winning artist, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid has changed his name from the Wizkid to “Big Wiz” on Instagram.
Over time, several fans have suggested to the Afrobeat sensation to shift away from the “-kid” suffix in the 30-year-old singer’s official stage name to signal his growth over the years as well as his emergence in the global music industry.
The singer however generated abuzz on Monday has he changed his name from Wizkid to Big Wizon the social media platform.
The change came without prior announcement, leaving observers unsure as to whether or not it’s an official stage name change.
But his Twitter page, as of the time of this report, had still retained the name “Wizkid” despite being active.
Wizkid’s handle across both social media platforms also remained unchanged.

Recall that the two won the Grammy award for 2021, which shows that the two are performing excellently well in the music industry, both home and international
Burna Boy took home the Best International Act category at the 2019 and 2020 BET Awards.
The two Grammy winners are up for Best International Act, along with Aya Nakamura (France), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Emicida (Brazil), Headie One (UK), Young T & Bugsey (UK), and Youssoupha (France).
