Multiple networks and websites like Reddit, The verge,  The Guardian, Financial Times,  CNN, and Bloomberg News were down across the globe on Tuesday.

The Worldwide internet outage linked to content delivery network Fastly, an Internet service, which helps deliver website content to internet users.

The leading internet content delivery service was said to have experienced an outage on its platform which may have caused a worldwide internet issue and taken dozens of major websites offline.

According to Aljazeera,   Amazon.com Inc’s retail website also seemed to face an outage, Britain’s Guardian newspaper said its website and app were affected. Sites of some other British news media were also not immediately loading.

The UK government’s main website too was unavailable. The White House website had an error message but was later working.

Social networks like Twitter had partial Breakdown as meme’s emoji and images were not loading.

The BBC and The New York Times were temporarily inaccessible but later returned.

Messages such as “Error 503 Service Unavailable” and “connection failure” appeared.

Fastly, which has been widely reported as the source of the problem, updated its service status page, saying: “The issue has been identified and a fix is being implemented.”

A number of the affected websites had earlier begun to confirm that the issue was linked to Fastly.

Alex Hern, the Guardian’s technology editor, tweeted that Fastly “has been identified as the cause of the problem”.

“The outage, which began shortly before 11am UK time, saw visitors to a vast array of sites receive error messages including ‘Error 503 Service Unavailable’ and a terse ‘connection failure’,” he tweeted
