See the Top 10 Most competitive Universities in Nigeria as released by JAMB at the 2020 Policy meeting, determined by the application statistics of 2020 UTME applicants.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has published the list of the most competitive Universities in Nigeria for the year 2020.
This was made known during a presentation at the 2020 Policy meeting organised by JAMB on Tuesday.
The statistics published by the board reflected the 2020 UTME application by institutions chosen as the first choice by applicants.
The University of Ilorin and Ahmadu Bello University topped the list, as they have been over the past four years, with 103,582 and 82,984 applicants respectively.
Meanwhile, the University of Lagos was not far behind as it had 74,800 applicants followed by Bayero University, Kano with 70,376 applicants.
Others include University of Nigeria, Nsukka — 68,971; University of Benin — 68,805; University of Ibadan — 62,606;
Obafemi Awolowo University — 58914; Nnamdi Azikwe University — 58,292; and the University of Jos with 57,318 first choice applicants.

Unfortunately, none of these institutions can admit more than its speculated quota, which does not exceed 15,000 students.
