Mexican businessman Carlos is a self-made billionaire who earned a degree in civil engineering. His humble attributes would not immediately reveal his wealth, but everyone knows that he is among the richest people in the world. He graduated from UNAM and worked tirelessly to achieve his goals. His multi-industry empire has put him on the Forbes list of the richest people, alongside Bill Gates and Warren Buffet.

9. Teri Hatcher – Mathematics and Engineering

People know Teri from the famous TV series The Desperate Housewives and also from a few movies. Teri is a very successful and famous actress, but she is also an engineer. She was likely inspired by her father, a computer programmer and nuclear physicist. De Anza College is proud to have such a celebrity on its alumni roster, but fans should be more proud to have such a talented actress.

8. Chris Vance – Civil Engineering

Chris is another example of a civil engineer who went on to pursue a different career. After graduating from Newcastle University, he tried playing in the UK, Australia and the United States. After appearing in Prison Break , he has worked on Rizzoli & Islands and many other television shows. In an interview, Chris said that he realized he wasn’t satisfied with civil engineering and that being an actor was the right thing to do.

7. Neil Armstrong – Aeronautical Engineering

There would not be a person who is not familiar with the accomplishments of Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon in 1969. Armstrong wanted nothing more than to be an astronaut. Graduating from Purdue University has helped him fly as far as possible. This celebrity has never been seen in Hollywood movies, but Hollywood makes movies inspired by Neil Armstrong and his famous moon landing.

6. Cindy Crawford – Chemieingenieurwesen

Here’s a celebrity you probably wouldn’t expect to be on a list like this. Cindy’s education is excellent and she didn’t want to be a supermodel. She studied chemical engineering at Northwestern University. But everything changed when she decided to pursue a modeling career in New York City. Now she is one of the highest paid models in the world.

5. Bill Nye – Mechanical Engineering

Bill is the man who made science more accessible to people, using mainstream media with the show Bill Nye – The Science Man, as an educational program in 1993. He graduated from Cornell University and developed sundials for Mars Exploration Rover Missions. He was also second executive director of the Planetary Society.

4. Kalpana Chawla – Aeronautical Engineering

The Indian space hero will always be remembered for her determination and persistence in engineering. Her work is an inspiration to women who want to become astronauts. Kalpana’s engineering education began at the Punjab Engineering College in India. She then earned a master’s degree in Texas and a PhD in aerospace engineering from the University of Colorado. Chawla was the first Indian woman to travel in space, but she lost her life on her second space voyage in 2003.

3. Ashton Kutcher – Biochemical Engineering

His motivation to study this particular field of technology would not allow him to be an actor. Ashton was aware of his brother’s heart problems and he decided to seek a cure for it. But not everything went according to plan. There are many reasons to believe that he was the king of parties and drunk at the University of Iowa. After realizing that he could be a model, he graduated and became a highly paid actor in Hollywood.

New York’s 108th Major is a very smart man. Mike Bloomberg was in love with electrical engineering growing up and Johns Hopkins University initiated that love even more. Many people don’t know that he built a ham radio as a child, and his love of science offered him a different way of thinking. Now Mike is the CEO of media company Bloomberg LP

One of the funniest men in the world is also a very well educated celebrity. Mr. Beans Sitcom actor Rowan graduated from Newcastle University while trying to be an actor. He is also a big car enthusiast. You can see him at numerous F1 races, the Top Gear show and he has also written for various British motoring magazines. There is no one who can play Mr Bean better than Rowan Atkinson and now we have proof that he is funny but also a very smart actor.
