Rosy Meurer, is a Gambian-born Nigerian actress and producer. She is most known for her 2014 role as Kaylah in the TV series Oasis and 2018 role as Kemi Alesinloye in Ayo Makun’s Merry Men: The Real Yoruba
The mother of one was born in The Gambia to a Dutch father and Nigerian mother from Delta State. She is the first child in a family of three.
Rosy Meurer Carrer
Rosy Meurer started her career as a model in The Gambia, before moving to Nigeria in 2009. She was discovered in The Gambia in 2009 by Nigerian actor and politician, Desmond Elliot who advised her to try acting in Nigeria. Her dream while growing up is to become an air hostess or a pilot
She started her career as an actress in 2009 where she starred in Emem Isong’s film Spellbound and in the 2011 film In the Cupboard,
However, she stopped acting for a while and went back to school in The Gambia, before coming back to Nigeria to continue her acting career. When she returned in 2014, she joined the cast of the TV series Oasis, starring in a lead role as Kaylah. The following year, she played Nneka in Damaged Petal and starred in Red Card and Open Marriage.
In 2017, she starred in the main role in Our Dirty Little Secret. In the same year, she played Monica in the TV series Philip and Polycarp and starred in The Incredible Father, Pebbles of Love and Our Dirty Little Secret.
She later went on to produce her first movie The Therapist’s Therapy. In 2018, she played the lead role as Valerie in Eniola Badmus’s film Karma and starred as Kemi Alesinloye in Ayo Makun’s Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons.
There was a controversy back in 2017 when Tonto Dikeh confirmed separation from husband Olakunle Churchill, she accused actress Rosy Meurer of having an affair with Churchill, something she denied vehemently. Meurer had addressed the allegation of snatching Churchill from Tonto Dike.
The Gambian actress denied the allegation that she snatched Tonto Dikeh ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill. She told her curious followers and fans that she was not responsible for the collapse of her husband’s previous marriage to Tonto. She said even though she described Mr Churchill as a brother in the past, they are not related by blood, and that her marriage to him is nothing but the will of God taking place in her life.
“No one broke anyone’s home. It is just what it is. Life happened. Some things you don’t plan. I let God’s will in my life take place. I lost my own relationship in the middle of all the online banter then, something that didn’t concern me. Life goes on.
“He’s like my brother doesn’t make him my blood. I’ve known him for donkey years, he had his life and I had mine. I never looked at him in that way.
Although the date of their wedding was not actually disclosed, people got to know after Olakunle Churchill celebrated Rosy Meurer on her birthday with a loving writeup on his Social platform
