“Rap is Dead and Boring” – Wizkid

• Popular Nigerian musician, Wizkid downgrades the rap music industry, says artists repeat beats and flows
• He further states that rap music is now dead and boring and he doesn’t listen to rap anymore

Popular Afropop artist, Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid ‘Starboy’ has downgraded the reign of rap music. In a recent interview with, the Afropop star states that rap music is dead and boring and he doesn’t even listen to them anymore. These were his words, “Afrobeats is the new pop. I sold two million copies in America off of one song! Even some American artists don’t have a diamond record. If I’m being honest, I don’t listen to any other genre of music anymore. I don’t listen to rap – that shit is boring to me. It’s dead now, it’s tiring. These guys do the same shit, rap on the same beats and the same flows.”

Several reactions have tailed this, however. While some praised and confirmed the authenticity of his words, some disagree, stating he is totally wrong. Some also advised him to not talk ill of other musical genres just because it is not his kind of music. Nonetheless, what do yu feel about this?
