  • Davido Advises Rising Artistes to Stay Close to God Despite Fame

Afrobeats superstar Davido has advised aspiring musicians to remain committed to God even after achieving fame, saying success often comes with distractions that can make people forget their source.

Speaking during a recent interview with Kiss Xtra, the award-winning singer said hard work, dedication and self-belief are important, but maintaining a strong relationship with God is equally essential throughout a music career.

Davido shares advice for upcoming artistes

Reflecting on his journey in the music industry, Davido encouraged young artistes to believe in themselves and continually improve their craft.

“My advice for up-and-coming artistes is, first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me,” he said.

‘Don’t forget God when success comes’

Davido also warned that fame can expose artistes to numerous distractions capable of affecting their values and priorities.

“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here,” he added.

His remarks come amid growing conversations about faith in the entertainment industry, with several celebrities in recent years admitting that they became less active in religious activities after attaining fame.

Davido’s message has since resonated with many fans on social media, with supporters praising the singer for encouraging young artistes to remain humble and grounded despite success.

  • 10 Movies You Should Be Watching on Netflix Right Now

Netflix’s catalogue keeps shifting, but some titles manage to cut through the noise, either by dominating the charts or quietly building a strong following. Right now, these are the films pulling attention for different reasons: high stakes, strong performances, or just pure entertainment value.

    Thrash (2026)

A flooded coastal town. Sharks in the streets. Survival becomes the only currency. With Phoebe Dynevor and Djimon Hounsou leading the cast, this one leans fully into chaos. It’s not subtle, but it’s gripping in that “don’t overthink it” kind of way.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man (2026)

Cillian Murphy returns as Tommy Shelby, and the stakes feel heavier this time. Set against World War II tension, the story blends politics, betrayal, and unfinished business. It plays like a final chapter that doesn’t rush its weight.

    Apex (2026)

A remote climb turns into a survival game. Charlize Theron carries the film with a quiet intensity, while Taron Egerton brings menace from the shadows. It’s slow, tense, and deliberately uncomfortable.

    Roommates (2026)

This one feels lighter at first. Then it sharpens. A friendship between two very different girls gradually turns into something else—petty, competitive, and oddly funny. Not loud comedy, but the kind that creeps up on you.

    The Rip (2026)

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as cops who find money they shouldn’t have found. That’s the setup. What follows is distrust, pressure, and decisions that don’t sit well. Tight, controlled storytelling.

    Sisu (2022)

Set in World War II, but this isn’t history—it’s revenge. A quiet prospector goes up against Nazis and doesn’t stop. It’s violent, stylised, and almost myth-like in how unstoppable the main character feels.

    War Machine (2026)

Another high-stakes survival entry with Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton. It leans more into action than psychology, but still keeps the emotional tension close.

    The Iron Claw (2023)

Zac Efron delivers one of his most grounded performances here. The story of the Von Erich wrestling family is heavy, sometimes uncomfortable, and difficult to shake off. Not an easy watch, but a meaningful one.

    180 (2026)

A father pushed to the edge. What starts as a road rage incident turns into something darker. The pacing is tight, the emotion is raw, and the choices feel very real.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

Daniel Craig returns as Benoit Blanc, and the tone is familiar but fresh. A strange community, a murder, and layers of deception. It’s clever without trying too hard, and that’s where it works.

  • Peter Okoye, Paul Okoye, Mr Macaroni Lead Outrage Over Jos Palm Sunday killings

Nigerian entertainers and public figures have taken to social media to condemn the Palm Sunday massacre in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, where gunmen opened fire on residents on Sunday evening, killing at least 22 people and injuring several others, with many directing their anger at both the Plateau State government and President Bola Tinubu over what they described as a failure to protect Nigerian lives.

The attack, which occurred around 7:30 p.m. on March 29 at a bar in the Gari Ya Waye community, has sent shockwaves through the country, particularly among entertainers with roots in Plateau State.

    Peter Okoye

Singer Peter Okoye, who grew up in Plateau State, expressed raw emotion in his reaction on X. “My heart is heavy… My prayers are with my people in Jos,” he wrote, accompanied by a string of broken heart emojis.

In a separate post that surfaced amid the outrage, Peter also directly questioned the Nigerian government’s response, expressing disbelief that a confirmed death toll of dozens had not prompted a formal presidential address to the nation. He called the administration’s response incompetent and said the recurring tragedies were “unbearably heart-wrenching.”

    Paul Okoye (Rudeboy)

Paul Okoye, Peter’s twin brother and fellow P-Square alumnus, took a sharper tone. “We are not angry enough!!!” he wrote on X. “Maybe na until God come down to earth.” The singer, who was also born in Plateau State, used his platform to challenge what he described as widespread public passivity in the face of repeated security failures.

    Mr Macaroni

Comedian and activist Mr Macaroni was the most direct in his criticism of the presidency, writing: “President @officialABAT is running the most useless government in the history of useless governments!!! How many more Nigerians have to die due to this abysmal level of incompetence? Nigerians wake up every day to lament one tragedy or the other. Unbearably heart-wrenching!!!

In a follow-up post, Mr Macaroni said he could not understand how 40 confirmed deaths in Jos had not prompted the president to address the nation. “Zero accountability, zero responsibility!!!” he wrote.

    Ice Prince

Jos-born rapper Ice Prince reflected on the community’s long history of suffering. “Since 2001, Jos, Jos, Jos. My people have suffered too much tbh… Thoughts and prayers,” he wrote on X — a reference to the cycle of ethno-religious violence that has plagued the city for over two decades.

    Nathaniel Bassey and Jerry Eze

Gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey offered prayers rather than political criticism, writing: “JOS! You shall not be broken. The forces of evil in our nation shall never prevail. We shall see their end. It is well with you, Jos. Let there be light!” Pastor Jerry Eze of Streams of Joy International also reacted, calling on divine protection for the community.

    Kunle Remi

Nollywood actor Kunle Remi, who made headlines last week for speaking out about fuel prices, also added his voice to the chorus of condemnation, describing the attack as deeply painful and calling on the government to take decisive action to protect lives in Plateau State.

The celebrity reactions came alongside physical protests on the ground. Hundreds of angry residents took to the streets on Monday morning, defying the 48-hour curfew imposed by the Plateau State government, to protest the killings and demand urgent action from authorities. Protesters gathered at the scene of the attack, expressing outrage over the continued loss of lives in the state.

On social media, users echoed the same frustration. One commenter wrote: “The government in Nigeria has failed over and over again in protecting the lives and property of Nigerians. This government must go.” Another, @Frankline Obi, warned that prolonged insecurity could radicalise youth: “Plateau youths have endured enough pain. When peace is met with bullets, frustration turns to fire.”

The Gari Ya Waye attack occurred on Palm Sunday, the opening of Holy Week in the Christian calendar, in a predominantly Christian community in Jos North. A 48-hour curfew remains in place across Jos North LGA until April 1, 2026. Governor Caleb Mutfwang described the attack as barbaric and unprovoked and said security agencies had been mobilised, but no arrests had been announced as of Tuesday morning.

  • Apostle Chibuzor’s Autistic Son Aboy Weds Three Days after Viral Controversy

Aboy Chibuzor, the autistic adopted son of Omega Power Ministries founder Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, got married on Sunday, March 29, in a church ceremony described by the ministry as joyful and faith-filled, just three days after a viral social media post seeking a bride for the young man ignited fierce debate about disability, consent, and the ethics of incentivised marriage.

The groom was abandoned as a child at the gate of OPM’s headquarters by unknown parents who reportedly discovered his condition and left him in the pastor’s care. He has been raised under Apostle Chinyere’s guardianship since then, requiring full-time support with daily activities, including feeding and bathing.

The viral post that started it

The controversy began when Apostle Chinyere published a post on Facebook seeking a wife for Aboy and offering a package of financial incentives to any willing woman. The offer included lifetime accommodation, a monthly salary for life, a house to be built in both names, free medical care, and overseas vacations. The woman could be a single mother or older, he said, but must not be autistic.

Chinyere explained his motivation as compassion, saying he had observed what he described as uncontrollable urges in Aboy and felt a responsibility to find a lawful and dignified solution. He said he had considered and rejected the alternatives, abandoning the young man or allowing a situation outside marriage, and concluded that a paid marriage arrangement was the most ethical path available to him.

    The backlash

The post drew immediate and widespread condemnation across Nigerian social media. Many critics argued that women are not rehabilitation centres and that the proposal reduced both Aboy and a potential bride to transactional figures. Others said the young man needed proper autism specialist care and psychological evaluation rather than marriage, and questioned why the pastor’s widely reported healing powers had not been applied to Aboy’s condition directly.

Faced with the backlash, Apostle Chinyere issued a public apology, stating he had not intended to demean women. “I never knew it hurt you like this. If you Google the internet, you will find many autistic men marrying normal ladies; it’s not a crime. But I am sorry to our beautiful ladies who feel embarrassed by my proposal,” he wrote. He reiterated that he cares for over 500 children abandoned at his church gate and that Aboy’s case was one of compassion.

    The wedding

Despite the controversy, the wedding proceeded on Sunday, March 29, at OPM headquarters. Aboy married a woman described by the church as a single woman of God, with church members and well-wishers in attendance.

The financial package announced for the couple included a ₦10 million wedding gift, a free house, an overseas vacation, and a pledge of ₦20 million after 10 years, subject to Aboy being alive at that time. Church members also made additional contributions, with one member donating ₦1 million and another ₦200,000 at the ceremony.

A moment that moved Apostle Chibuzor

Apostle Chinyere shared what he described as a remarkable development at the reception. For the first time since reaching adulthood, Aboy fed himself at the dining table without any assistance, something the pastor said had never happened before. “Surprisingly, for the first time since Aboy attained adulthood, he fed himself without assistance at the wedding. Already, miracles have started to happen,” he wrote on social media after the ceremony.

While this story has generated significant public celebration, disability rights advocates have raised legitimate questions that are worth noting for readers. Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition, not a spiritual one, and individuals on the autism spectrum have varying levels of capacity and independence. Organisations that work with autistic individuals generally emphasise person-centred support, specialist therapy, and informed consent in all major life decisions, including marriage, as the global standard of care.

  • Sarah Martins Denies Blessing CEO’s Cancer Claim, Calls it a Fundraising Stunt

Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has publicly challenged the cancer disclosure made by popular relationship therapist and content creator Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, describing the announcement as a manipulative attempt to generate public sympathy and solicit funds for her partner.

The actress posted her claims on Instagram on Wednesday evening, hours after Blessing CEO’s tearful cancer video had gone viral and attracted widespread concern from Nigerians online.

    What Blessing CEO said

Earlier this week, Blessing CEO published an emotional video in which she broke down in tears, disclosed that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and asked Nigerians to pray for her. The video generated significant sympathy across social media, with thousands of followers sending messages of support and inquiring about how to assist her.

    Sarah Martins’ counter-claims

In her Instagram post, Martins flatly denied the cancer claim, alleging that Blessing CEO resides in the Lakwe area of Lagos and commutes regularly by bus alongside IVD. She also alleged that a Mercedes-Benz recently displayed as a gift was staged for public attention rather than a genuine acquisition. “There’s no money anywhere,” she said.

Martins went further, alleging that both Blessing CEO and IVD are currently experiencing financial difficulties, claiming that assets had been sold to manage their expenses. She described the cancer announcement as a deliberate strategy designed to attract public empathy and donations. “This cancer story is a manipulative stunt to gain sympathy and empathy from Nigerians in order to raise money to start a business for IVD,” she alleged.

    Important editorial note

It is critical to state clearly that Sarah Martins’ claims are unverified allegations. RNN.NG has not independently confirmed or denied Blessing CEO’s medical condition. A cancer diagnosis is a serious and sensitive medical matter, and no third party — including Sarah Martins — is in a position to confirm or disprove it without access to verified medical records.

Blessing CEO has not responded directly to Martins’ allegations as of the time of this report.

The controversy comes amid an already tense public dynamic surrounding Blessing CEO and IVD, with the two having previously been the subject of online scrutiny over their relationship and financial lifestyle. Many Nigerians online are now calling for verified medical evidence before drawing conclusions, while others have sided with Martins’ scepticism.

Blessing CEO is widely known as a relationship commentator with a large social media following, and has previously been at the centre of several public controversies involving Nigerian celebrities.

  • Kunle Remi Slams ₦1,300 Fuel Price, Challenges Pro-Tinubu Colleagues

Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has broken his usual silence on political matters, taking to social media on Tuesday to express frustration over Nigeria’s worsening fuel prices, erratic power supply, and what he described as a lack of accountability in government.

The actor, known for roles in several popular Nigerian productions, said the current economic reality had become impossible to ignore or stay quiet about.

“Sitting on the fence is stupid”

In a video shared on his Instagram page, Remi said he has always avoided discussing politics publicly but now considers that position untenable. “That’s the most stupid statement of anybody in Nigeria right now. We should be discussing, trying to fix things, and inquiring about what is happening in the nation. There’s nothing like sitting on the fence,” he said.

    The fuel and power crisis

Remi said petrol now sells for ₦1,300 per litre on Lagos Island, where he lives, and that residents have been running generators continuously due to a lack of stable electricity supply. He noted the financial and psychological toll this has taken, including on his own staff, who struggle to afford the higher transport costs just to get to work.

“All the things I’m working for… for what? It’s messing with my brain, and my spirit is very angry,” he said.

He also pointed to the country’s dependence on a single functioning refinery — the Dangote refinery — while other refineries across the country remain non-operational, describing government support in the sector as inadequate.

    Challenge to colleagues

Remi directly challenged fellow entertainers who he said are part of a group promoting the message that Nigerians should “relax” because President Tinubu is fixing the country, questioning whether they are truly standing for the right reasons.

He did not name any individual colleagues in the video.

Nigeria has seen significant increases in fuel prices since the removal of the fuel subsidy in May 2023, shortly after President Bola Tinubu took office. Petrol prices have risen from under ₦200 per litre at the time of the removal to well above ₦1,000 in several parts of the country by early 2026. The Dangote refinery began local fuel sales in late 2024, but prices have remained high, with the naira’s continued weakness against the dollar cited as a key factor.

Remi’s video had generated significant engagement on social media by Tuesday evening. RNN.NG will follow any responses from the colleagues he referenced. Nigerians can watch the full video on his official Instagram page, @kunleremiofficial.

  • Blessing CEO Reveals Stage 4 Cancer Diagnosis, Sells Property for Treatment

Nigerian relationship blogger and social media personality Blessing CEO has disclosed that she is battling stage 4 cancer, and has begun selling personal belongings to raise funds for treatment.

    How the news broke

The announcement came on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, when Blessing CEO shared a series of videos on her Instagram page.

In the clips, she appeared emotional and visibly distressed, with noticeable hair loss linked to the illness.

She appealed to her followers for prayers and support, writing: “My days are numbered like this? I need all the prayers I can get. Pray for me and check up on me. Tired of being strong while I am going gradually.”

    Items listed for sale

Shortly after her disclosure, Blessing’s CEO announced she would be auctioning personal items to fund chemotherapy and other medical expenses.

Among the items she put up for sale are her car, a wig collection, and her house in Lagos.

“Hey guys, to those of you who have always admired my wigs, I’m going to be auctioning them for sale because I need money for chemo,” she said. “Please, the fastest finger should just text me, don’t stress me because I’m already going through a lot.”

    Public reaction

The announcement quickly drew reactions across social media, with many followers expressing concern and solidarity.

Several fans urged her to stay strong, while others began reaching out to purchase the listed items to support her treatment.

Blessing CEO has not yet disclosed which hospital or medical facility is managing her care or the total cost of her treatment. Followers wishing to support her have been directed to contact her directly through her Instagram page.
