Osun: Adeleke dissolves all non- statutory board
Newly inaugurated Governor of Osun State Adeleke Ademola has on Tuesday ordered the immediate dissolution of all non-statutory boards in the state.
The directive dissolving the boards was contained in a memo to heads of ministries, departments and agencies, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye.
“As a follow-up to the pronouncement by Gov. Ademola Adeleke on Nov. 27, 2022, all non-statutory Boards, Commissions and Parastatals, including those of Tertiary Institutions (with exception of UNIOSUN), are hereby dissolved in the state forthwith.
“Consequently, all Accounting Officers of such Boards, Parastatals, and Commissions are to take charge with immediate effect,” Rasheed said.
APC Wants To Set Osun On Fire By Undermining Adeleke Govt, Says CUPP
Meanwhile, The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of ploy to set Osun State on fire and make it ungovernable in order to undermine the new government of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
CUPP in a statement by its spokesman, Ikenga Ugochinyere, in Abuja on Tuesday, described as laughable the stories being linked to the newly sworn-in governor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by the APC.
Making reference to the alleged attack on operatives of Amotekun Corps on duty at the inauguration of Adeleke in Osogbo on Sunday, and alleged destruction of Tinubu’s campaign billboards by PDP supporters, Ugochinyere said such actions were just mischievous confusions being created by the immediate-past administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, to allegedly frustrate Adeleke government.
He also said those actions were vindictive measures allegedly put in place by Oyetola who’s pained for losing the governorship election, against the people of Osun State for voting APC out of office.
CUPP, therefore, called on the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba,àaa to immediately arrest the former governor before he sets the State of the Living Spring on fire.
The opposition parties also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to call his party members in Osun State to order.
