Nigerian Engineers via “The Nigerian Society of Engineers” (NSE) platform have praised the Nation’s Minister for Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola for facilitating a classroom project for students in Abuja.

The society commissioned a three-block classroom donated to a government school Bwari, Abuja. Apparently, NSE worked hand-in-hand with the Minister to ensure the completion of the project.

NSE Chairman, Bwari branch, Ijirortimi Olanrewaju, and the former chairman, Halimat Adeniran made this disclosure at their opening address during the commissioning in Abuja.

They narrated the previous experiences of students in a water-logged classroom, thanking Fashola for coming to their aid to ensure a better environment for learning.

Engineers Task FG on Primary School Investments

Meanwhile, the Vice president of the society, Chinanza Okoli has called on the Federal Government to invest in primary school education as it is the bedrock of any nation’s prosperity.

Okoli opined that the project will definitely help the students choose better career paths as “they will want to be engineers and not street urchins when they grow up”.

He said, “Look at how happy the pupils we have just provided classrooms and furniture are. It just proves to them that they are not abandoned or of a lower class in the environment. I am sure they will want to be engineers and not street urchins when they grow up because of this gesture.”

The Education Executive Secretary, Bwari Local Education Authority, Tanko Isuwa, therefore assured NSE that the school would make prudent use of the classrooms for the betterment of the pupils.
