COZA Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo And The Several Allegations Against Him

The Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, has backed up Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith church who fired over 40 pastors because they were “unfruitful and blatant failures.”

It has been earlier reported that one Peter Godwin, a former pastor of the church had claimed that Oyedepo sacked him and alongside 41 other pastors for failing to make enough money in their branches.

The entire incident however generated several reactions from Nigerians with the majority of the people berating the bishop for sacking the pastors due to the fact that they were generating low income.

Reacting to the development in a statement on Wednesday, Oyedepo described the reports making the round as ‘nonsense’. He said the only criteria for their sack was how many souls had been won in the church. He maintained that the pastors were sacked because they were unfruitful and blatant failures.

Showing support for the Bishop’s decision Pastor Fatoyinbo took to his Instagram page to share a viral video of the Bishop clearly stating the reason for the sack of the ex-ministers.

Stating that there is no room for laziness and unfruitfulness in the Christian ministry, the pastor questioned those criticizing the Bishop that if they were fired in the bank for not meeting up with the deliverables will they announce it on social media.

He further backed up his point with Luke 13;6-9  a bible verse where a certain man asked the vineyard dresser to cut down the fig tree that bears no fruit.

He wrote: ***No room for laziness and unfruitfulness*** Question! “ if you were fired in the Bank for not meeting up with your deliverables will you go on social media? In @bidemiolaoba ‘s voice “The Bible Says”. – He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down. Luke 13 : 6 – 9
