Burna  Boy’s fourth studio album, African Giant is the most streamed Nigerian Album on Spotify, with over 529 Million Streams. The album was released on July 26, 2019, and features guest appearances from Jorja Smith, Jeremih, Damian Marley, and Angelique Kidjo, among others.

The album received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who called it cohesive and praised Burna Boy for not diluting his sound. It was included in the year-end lists issued by several publications, including Billboard, Complex, and Pitchfork. African Giant won Album of the Year at the 2019 All Africa Music Awards and was nominated for Best World Music Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.

2. CKay the First – CKay

CKay the First is the second extended play by CKay and one of the most streamed Nigerian projects on Spotify, with over 500 Million streams.  The EP was released on 30 August 2019 and features guest appearances from DJ Lambo, BOJ, Blaqbonez, and Barry Jhay.

The project is making the list, thanks to “Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)”, the second track on the EP, which became a global hit song, topping charts in multiple countries across the world. It is also the most streamed Nigerian song on Spotify, with over 450 Million streams. Love Nwantiti is best selling Nigerian and African song of all time, with over 10 Million certified units worldwide.

3. Made In Lagos (Deluxe) – Wizkid

Wizkid’s Made In Lagos, takes third place among the most streamed Nigerian Albums on Spotify, with over 400 Million Streams. The album was released on 30 October 2020 and features guest appearances from Burna Boy, Skepta, H.E.R., Ella Mai, Tay Iwar, Projexx, Tems, Damian Marley, and Terri. It was met with critical and commercial success shortly after its release.

The album debuted at number 15 on the UK Albums Chart and 80 on the US Billboard 200. The album received a nomination at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Global Music Album. It is presently the longest charting African album on the Billboard world albums chart, where it has spent over 90 weeks. The album also received a nomination at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Global Music Album.

4. A Good Time – Davido

Davido’s second studio album, A Good Time is one of the most streamed Nigerian Albums on Spotify, with over 259 Million streams. The album was released on November 22, 2019,  and features guest appearances from Chris Brown, Summer Walker, Gunna,  Dremo, Peruzzi, Popcaan, and Naira Marley, among others.

The album charted on the Billboard world albums chart and the Billboard Heatseekers Albums where it peaked at number 6. It also contained 2 of the best-selling Nigerian Songs: If and Fall, both of which have been certified Gold in the United States for selling 500 copies. It is one of the few Nigerian Albums which have crossed 1 billion streams across all platforms.

5. Playboy – Fireboy DML

Playboy is the third studio album by Fireboy DML and one of the most streamed Nigerian albums on Spotify, with over 241 Million streams on the platform.  It was released on 5 August 2022 and features guest appearances from Ed Sheeran, Rema, Chris Brown, and Asake, among others.

The album debuted on the Billboard World Album Chart weeks after the release, sitting on No 4. Like many albums on this list, Playboy also contains one of the best-selling Nigerian songs “Peru”, which is also one of the most streamed Nigerian songs on Spotify.

6. Outside – Burna Boy

Outside is the third studio album by Nigerian singer Burna Boy. It was released on January 26, 2018, and is one of the streamed Nigerian albums on Spotify, with over 226 Million streams. It features guest vocals from English musicians J Hus, Lily Allen, and Mabel.

Outside debuted at number three on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. The album received critical acclaim from music critics, who commended its diverse sounds and Burna Boy’s versatility. It also won Album of the Year at the 2018 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and was nominated for Best R&B/Pop Album and Album of the Year at The Headies 2019.

7. Sound From The Other Side – Wizkid

Wizkid makes the list again, with Sound From The Other Side. It was released on July 14, 2017, and features guest appearances from Drake, Major Lazer, Chris Brown, Ty Dolla Sign, Efya, Bucie, and Trey Songz. The album debuted at number 107 on the US Billboard 200. It also debuted at number 58 on the Canadian Albums Chart.

Sound From The Other Side is one of the streamed Nigerian albums on Spotify, thanks to its hit banging lead singles: “Daddy Yo” featuring Efya, “Sweet Love”, and “Come Closer” featuring Drake. Burna Boy recently released Love Damini is surprisingly one of the most streamed Nigerian Albums on Spotify, with over 171 Million streams. The album was released on 8 July 2022 and features guest appearances from Ladysmith Black Mambazo, J Hus, Vict0ny, Popcaan, Blxst, Kehlani, Ed Sheeran, J Balvin, and Khalid.

The album charted in numerous charts across the world, peaking at number 2 on the official UK Albums chart, no 14 on the Billboard 200, and no 6 on the Billboard  Canadian Albums chart. It also contains numerous hit songs, such as Last Last, For My Hand featuring Ed Sheeran, all of which are currently making waves all over the globe.

9. Rave & Roses – Rema

Rema’s debut studio album Rave & Roses takes ninth place among the most streamed Nigerian Albums on Spotify, with over 170 Million streams. The album was released on 25 March 2022 and included guest appearances from 6lack, Chris Brown, AJ Tracey, and Yseult.

Like many albums on this list, Rave & Roses charted on numerous charts across the world, including the Belgian Dutch, and French albums charts, where it peaked at 189, 13, and 19 respectively. The album’s second single Calm Down is one of the most streamed Nigerian Songs with over 100 Million streams.

10. Twice As Tall – Burna Boy

Concluding the list of the 10 most streamed Nigerian albums on Spotify is the award-winning Grammy album “Twice as Tall”, with over 166 Million streams. The album was released on August 14, 2020, and features guest appearances from Youssou N’Dour, Naughty by Nature, Sauti Sol, Chris Martin, and Stormzy.

Twice As Tall charted on numerous charts across the world including the Billboard World Album Chart, US Billboard 200, and the Official UK  Albums chart, where it peaked at 1, 54, and 11 respectively. As you probably know  Twice as Tall won Best Global Music Album at the  63rd ceremony of the Grammy Awards.
