The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has published the list of the most competitive Colleges of Education in Nigeria for the year 2020.

The metrics for arriving at the list was based on the number of 2020 UTME applicants that filled in for these institutions as their first choice.
The statistics presented by the Board at the 2020 JAMB Policy meeting shows that the Northern Colleges of Education dominated the list.
Like it has been over the past four years, Federal College of Education, Zaria topped the list with 4,370 first choice applicants.
Kaduna State College of Education and Saadatu Rimi College of Education, Kano followed suit as the 2nd and 3rd with 3,707 and 2,999 applicants respectively.

Meanwhile, Federal College of Education, Kano was not far behind as it had 2,451 applicants followed by Federal College of Education, Gomber with 2,239 applicants.
Others include College of Education, Akwanga — 2,093; Federal College of Education, Katsina — 2,057; Federal College of Education, Potiskum — 1,945; Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsinma — 1,783; and FCT College of Education, Zuba with 1,189 first choice applicants.
