Maximilian Martini was born on the 11th of December, 1969 in New York. His father is Italian while his mother is American. However, he is a citizen of both countries and speaks the languages fluently. His father, Raffaele Martini Pandozy was a sculptor and reformist artist, while his mother, Patricia Martini Margolin was a private investigator and parole officer. Max Martini has two siblings, Christopher Martini who is an actor and producer, and Michelle Martini who is a costume designer.

He studied at the St. Michaels University School in Victoria, Canada. When he moved to New York, he studied acting at the Neighbourhood Playhouse and afterwards, studied privately at Micheal Howard Studios. Thereafter, he attended the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and bagged a B.F.A. in painting and sculpture while working as an artist assistant to Julian Schnabel.
