Biography
Marie Avgeropoulos was born on the 17th of June 1986 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Born to Greek parents, she grew up fishing, hunting, camping, and spending most of her free time outdoors. When she was16, she started playing the drums. Marie Avgeropoulos studied broadcast journalism for two years in her hometown and moved to Europe afterwards. After several months, she returned to Canada and settled in Vancouver. Her vocal cords were removed and then put back in after surgery at the age of 20 to remove a large tumour from her chest and throat. Unfortunately, her voice was affected by this surgery.

Career
During a casting in Vancouver, Marie Avgeropoulos was invited by a friend as it was open for drummers. There, a talent agent cited her and invited her to appear in various national commercials. Her appearances and performances caught the attention of Chris Columbus. He, therefore, hired her for I Love You, Beth Cooper, which was her first feature film role. Afterwards, her appearances gave her the chance to star in more films, TV shows, and magazines.
In 2010, Marie Avgeropoulos was cast as Kim Rhodes in Hunt to Kill which became her break-out role. In Early 2013, Marie Avgeropoulos made her break out in TV after being cast for a recurring role in Cult. Nonetheless, the series was a failure, the show was cancelled after episode 7 and the remaining 6 episodes were broadcast later in the summer. Following the cancellation of the show, she was cast as one of the main characters in The 100 to portray Octavia Blake.

Marie Avgeropoulos was allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident in the latter part of 2018, when she and her partner allegedly started fighting in a car on the Ventura Freeway shortly after midnight on August 5, 2018. The District Attorney’s Office claims that Avgeropoulos, who was under the influence of new medication mixed with alcohol, repeatedly struck him in the head, neck, and arm, causing only minor injuries. She was then accused of domestic abuse. Her partner requested that the allegations against her be dropped and said that she is not a danger. All charges were officially withdrawn in the case because Avgeropoulos had no malicious intent and the outburst was instead caused by “an adverse reaction to the medication.” Then from 2013 to 2015, she was romantically involved with American actor Taylor Lautner.
