Luis Enrique was born in 1951 in Chile, he earned a law degree from the University of Navarra, Spain. Later, he pursued a master’s degree in business administration and economics at the IESE Graduate Business School, also in Spain.
Career
Rey’s uncle started Banco de Crédito e Inversiones (BCI) in 1937 and led it until 1954. His son, Jorge Yarur Banna, took over until 1991, when Luis joined the board. He served as BCI’s CEO for 11 years and is now the Chairman.
Rey is involved in various committees, including innovation, ethics, and governance. He’s also part of advisory boards for educational and public institutions.
BCI is a member of the International Confederation of Popular Banks, and it’s Chile’s fourth-largest bank, acquiring City National Bank of Florida in 2015. BCI has over 300 branches and $79 billion in assets.
