Early Life And Education
John Cena was born in West Newbury, Massachusetts, on April 23, 1977. His mom, Carol, is English and French-Canadian, and his dad, John Joseph Cena, has Italian roots. He’s one of five brothers: Dan, Matt, Steve, and Sean. As a kid, he loved wrestling and even made cardboard championship belts for himself and his brothers. Cena went to Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, then to Cushing Academy, a private prep school in Ashburnham. Later, he attended Springfield College, where he played football and graduated in 1999 with a degree in exercise physiology. After that, he pursued bodybuilding and worked as a limo driver, and even had a job at Gold’s Gym for $6 an hour.

Cena moved to California in 1998 to become a bodybuilder. He started pro wrestling in 1999 with Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW).
