Biography

Jaylen Marseilles Brown was born on October 24, 1996, in Marietta, Georgia. His parents, Michelle and Masreselles Brown, along with his brother Quenton Brown, raised him. Currently, he plays for the Boston Celtics in the NBA.

Brown grew up as an exceptionally smart young man. Some people believed he was “too intelligent” for NBA basketball, which they saw as biased against African Americans. Brown is a vegetarian and has various interests. He enjoys learning Spanish, philosophy, meditation, and history, which showcase his brilliance.

Brown went to Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia. In his senior year, he helped his team win the Georgia High School Association Class 6A State Championship. He made two free throws with 0.6 seconds left, securing a 59–58 victory for Wheeler. Some of his other standout moments that year include scoring 28 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in a win against Wesleyan Christian Academy, getting 24 points and 8 rebounds in a win over Bentonville High School, and putting up 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists in a victory against Montverde Academy. Overall, Brown averaged 28 points and 12 rebounds in his senior season.

Brown also won a gold medal at the 2014 FIBA Americas Championship as part of the USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team and played in the 2015 McDonald’s All-American Boys Game. He received several awards, including Gatorade Georgia Boys Player of the Year, USA Today’s All-USA Georgia Player of the Year, Georgia’s Mr. Basketball, and Class 6A Player of the Year.
