A candidate of the ongoing UTME organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has decried the poor conduct of the examination.

In an interview with RNN, Adewuyi Kehinde Gbenga (Reg. Number 10757425BD) narrated his bitter ordeals on the irresponsibility of the invigilators.

The student who was assigned to the University of Ilorin ETC  centre, Kwara state, lampooned that an exam that supposed to start at 9:00 am started at 11:00 am.

“An examination that was supposed to start at 9:00 am, started at 11:00 am. A few minutes into the delayed exam, the electricity was distorted,” he lamented.

“Although power was restored within a few minutes, we were informed to wait for some minute. After I logged in I discovered my time remains just 20 minutes. An examination I just started?! I complained, but I was informed by the invigilator that the fault was from JAMB,” he cried out.

This year’s JAMB registration, to many students, has been so hectic; now coupled with the inability to write the exam under a conducive atmosphere is an unimaginable peak of it all.

RNN understands that several students were faced with technical difficulties, especially on the first day of the JAMB examination.

In response to which JAMB delisted some CBT centres it found ‘inefficient and rescheduled already allocated students to another venue and date.

However, many candidates who experienced these technical glitches are unsure of what would be their fate. Would they be considered to rewrite the examination? or be made to suffer for what they can not control?

We hope that JAMB does the right thing, and not deny these innocent candidates a chance to secure admission before they even have any.
