How To Get Permanent Residence in Canada Through Express Entry

The Express Entry has become a key force of immigrating to Canada and it was first introduced in 2015 and it is also recognized as the most popular immigration system all over the world.

Express entry can be defined as an immigration system and it is usually competitive because of the high rate of applications received annually and applicants are ranked based on their education, language proficiency result, age, work experience, and other factors

Within just a few months of applying, families, and individuals can become permanent residents in Canada with the use of an express entry

Steps to getting an Express Entry for Immigration to Canada

STEP 1: FIND OUT IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE

The ways to find out your eligibility for the express entry is to answer few questions that would say if you meet the minimum requirements or not and you would you need to meet the criteria of one of these four immigration programs and they are;

  • Federal skilled worker
  • Provincial nominee
  • Federal skilled trades
  • Canadian experience class

You would also be required to present the minimum amount of required settlement funds for your family size.

STEP 2: MAKE YOUR DOCUMENTS AVAILABLE

There are some documents you would need to provide to let them know if you are eligible or not, documents like English language proficiency test result and you would also need to get an educational credential assessment that is assessed by one of the agencies that is recognized by Immigration, Citizenship, and Refugees Canada.

You can use any of the agencies listed below;

  • Education Credential Assessment Account with Transcripts
  • Education Credential Assessment Account without Transcripts

STEP 3: SUBMIT YOUR PROFILE

Go to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website to create your express entry profile online. This is where you provide every information about yourself, you would be given a score after you have provided your information and this score would be awarded based on the provided information in your profile

STEP 4: RECEIVE AN INVITATION AND APPLY FOR A PERMANENT RESIDENCE

Applicants with the highest score would be asked to submit applications for a permanent residence within the next 60 days and if you do not submit your application within the 60 day period, it won’t be accepted again and you will be required to start all over again.

STEP 5: BIOMETRICS

Once your application has been submitted, you would be asked to complete biometrics at a visa application centre that is close to you.

Thereafter receiving your biometrics letter, you would be given a 30 days ultimatum to finish up the biometrics. Then you would have to wait for 6 months from the first day of submission to fully process your applications.

After six months, if your application is approved or rejected, you would be issued a notification.

If otherwise, approved, you would be given an immigrant visa, and thereafter, you will be able to immigrate to Canada.
