- The award was presented to him on Friday at the 2022 Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival
The inaugural Governor Udom Emmanuel Special Award for Excellence in Gospel Music has been given to Nigerian gospel music minister Pastor Nathaniel Bassey. The “Halleluyah Challenge Crooner” received the honour on Friday at the “Go Forward” Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival, which was held at the Ibom Hall Ground in Uyo, the state capital of Akwa Ibom. The state governor and award’s creator, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, said during the presentation that the honour is more of a sentiment and a symbol of appreciation for Nathaniel Bassey’s contribution to the gospel music industry than it is a compensation for the value he has brought to bear through his global ministry.
He claimed that the award is fully ordained to advance the music minister, and he prayed to God to recognise and heighten the music minister’s brilliance.
