Fidelity Bank announces retirement of Kings Akuma from its board

Kings Chukwu Akuma will step down from the board of directors as of November 24th, 2022, per Fidelity Bank Plc’s approval.

After joining the board of the bank, he served the organization for six years until announcing his retirement on November 25, 2022.

The development has been reported to the Nigerian central bank, according to a corporate statement signed by Company Secretary Ezinwa Unuigboje. In the statement, it was stated:

“Fidelity Bank Plc hereby notify the public of the retirement of Kings Chukwu Akuma, Non-executive director from the board of the bank with effect from November 24th, 2022.

“The board approved the retirement at its meeting of November 22, 2022, and has communicated same to the central bank of Nigeria.”

As a result, the board thanks Akuma for his contributions while he was a board member and wishes him luck in his future endeavors.

As of November 2016, Kings Akuma was appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the board of Fidelity Bank. He was the director of ALCON Nigeria Limited’s Non-Oil & Gas Business prior to his resignation, which came from a significant participant in the Oil, Gas, and Power industry.

Prior to taking this job, Akuma served as the managing director of Hammakopp Consortium Limited, a Nestoil Group Plc unit.

He has coordinated financial due diligence on various institutions thanks to his extensive knowledge of manufacturing, consulting, oil and gas, forensic accounting, and banking/financial operations spanning decades. His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Lagos.

In addition to being a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Akuma is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
