Biography

Femi Jacobs was born on the 8th of May, in Ile Ife, Osun a state in the southwestern part of Nigeria. He was the 5th child in a polygamous family of seven children from his mother. Femi grew up in Osun state where he was born.

He had his primary education after which he was enrolled in Fakunle Comprehensive high school, Osogbo in Osun State. Upon completion of secondary school, he proceeded to Lagos State University where he studied Mass Communication. Also, he studied marketing at the Lagos Business School.

Career

Due to the kind of poor background Femi Jacobs has, he left home to face his struggle at the tentative age of 11 years old.

At first, he was offered a job in Lagos State as an office assistant in a church. He discovered his musical talent while still working at the church.

Femi Jacobs thereafter started to learn how to play piano and was later hired as a music director. However, he was able to put out three albums.

Later, he was asked to play roles in a church group’s religious productions when he was attending church. The roles Femi played in church production made producers take note of his acting prowess.

This made him work in the film industry and was cast as Makinde Esho in the movie titled The Meeting. Jacobs starred in the movie alongside other popular actors like Jide Kosoko and Rita Dominic. After starring in the film, he came to the limelight and was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards for playing Makinde.

His keen way of handling roles in The meeting not only made him famous but paved the way for other significant roles given to him by other producers.
